Did Tom Brady call out his ex-wife in his latest newsletter?
When it comes to celebrity breakups, the 7-time Super Bowl had quite the public split from his supermodel ex-wife Gisele Bundchen back in 2022. That’s to be expected, since they were two high-profile individuals, and the media machine is always needing stories to churn out. And I’d be remiss if I also didn’t mention the other story that revealed itself around the divorce… the relationship that Gisele had with her jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente.
She now has a baby with that very jiu-jitsu instructor.
All reports say that despite that ugly end, Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen were doing their best to stay cordial for the sake of their children. The former celebrity couple have two kids – Benjamin and Vivian – and Brady has another son named Jack (from a previous relationship with Bridget Moynahan).
Brady talked a lot about his kids, and being a father, in his latest “199 Newsletter.” If you haven’t subscribed to it, or heard of it, that’s okay. Basically, Tom sits down about every week and shares his thoughts and insight on various topics. This past week, he took inspiration from a Scottie Scheffler interview where the pro golfer talked about being a father over a professional golfer.
Brady unpacked all that the No. 1 golfer in the world had to say, and shared his own thoughts. Throughout most of the newsletter, there’s an underlying tone that seems to jab at his ex-wife Gisele. See if you can smell what I’m stepping in with this portion of Tom Brady’s writing:
“I think part of being a great father is being a great example of doing what it takes to take care of your family. I chose to do it by playing football. My dedication to the sport, the hours of practice, the moments when I was laser focused.
Those were times when I believe I was doing the best possible thing for my family and my kids, by prioritizing my profession and teaching, by example, what it takes to be really good at your job, what it takes to follow through on commitments, what it takes to be a great teammate; and showing them, also by example, that work is a big part of all of our lives.
Remember, your children are watching everything. They see what you do in every aspect of your life and how you do it. Reading bedtime stories and helping them with homework are not the only ways to be a great parent. And neither is winning Super Bowls or MVPs.
Being a great football player didn’t make me a great dad, but how I became a great player certainly had an impact – from showing up day in and day out, to doing whatever it took to get better, be successful, be a role model, and to provide.”
Does it not seem as though portions of that got very personal?
If you think saying that is a stretch, just wait until you read how Tom Brady wrapped up his weekly newsletter. For those that would say he beat around the bush a bit with earlier sentiments shared in his writing, this particular portion really seems to point a finger at Gisele Bundchen:
“You won’t be perfect. Nobody is. You will fail and disappoint people along the way. But if you stay committed to your goals over time, even when your priorities shift (which they do at times), then you can be confident that you are living a life of integrity and purpose… Your actions reflect your priorities. That’s what you need to live up to everyday.”
Hey… if this is how Tom Brady works through his feelings, so be it. He used to be able to take his anger and emotions out on other football teams.
Now, he just channels all of that into his 199 Newsletter… which is just as exciting as watching Brady throw a goal line fade for a touchdown, am I right? The post Tom Brady Seemingly Takes Jab At His Ex-Wife Gisele Bundchen In His Latest Newsletter About Raising Kids: “Your Children Are Watching Everything” first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
