A midtown staple is expanding its menu with its partner, Mr. Riley Green.

Losers Bar & Grill is a Nashville staple with two locations. However, one of those locations sadly closed its doors last week. The downtown location changed ownership last week, with the owner, Steve Ford, selling the building after operating the bar and grill for sixteen years, back to its Swingin’ Doors days.

Musicians who have played the location for quite some time took to social media to inform fans they would no longer be playing the location. Many bar patrons commented on these posts, noting how heartbroken they were.

Losers c0-owner Steve Ford shared with Whiskey Riff that although he’s sad to see the downtown location of Losers come to an end of the era, he’s beyond grateful for the helluva run they had at that location and is appreciative to all the artists and employees who played a role in its years of success.

“I just want to appreciate all the… It was a great run for 16 years with all our musicians and employees that we’ve had. Everyone made it work, you know. It was a great run, and we decided to sell the building and put all of our ducks in a row with Losers (Midtown) and Riley as well with the Duck Blind.”

But as one door closes, another door opens. And have no fear, for anyone worried about what this means for the future of Losers’ midtown location, they are not going anywhere.

“Midtown, we’ve been here 22 years. I’m not giving this up. We have too much fun up here.”

The midtown location also brought in Riley Green as a co-owner last year, converting the former Winners space next door into Riley Green’s Duck Blind Nash. The bars work in tandem, with the Duck Blind being more of a sports bar, but both bars highlight good times and good music off-Broadway. Riley Green frequently visited locations before becoming a business partner and appears behind the bar often.
