Lamb of God Unveil New Album ‘Into Oblivion’, Title Track Streaming Now
We talked about it yesterday, we’ve already heard some of the tracks, but this morning the information’s finally here — Lamb of God‘s 10th studio album is titled Into Oblivion and coming out on March 13 via Epic Records.
The band’s follow up to 2022’s Omens features 10 new tracks, including the singles we’ve already heard “Sepsis” and “Parasocial Christ.” In conjunction with the album’s announcement, the Richmond, Virginia-based band released the title track as the album’s third single, which you can check out below.
Though the band says the album references their roots, vocalist Randy Blythe said the album’s title is more a commentary on the current state of affairs here in the States than anything else.
“Because that’s where we’re heading. In general, the album is about the ongoing and rapid breakdown of the social contract, particularly here in America. Things are acceptable now that would’ve horrified people just 20 years ago.”
As for the process that went into creating the new record, guitarist Mark Morton said the band felt like they had a lot more creative space to play around in with this one than previous releases.
“For me, the album is about having the space to breathe creatively and not feeling like we have to keep up with any trend or expectation. It feels nice to be untethered from any agenda beyond rallying around the notion of, ‘Let’s just make music that we think is cool,’ which is really where it all started.”
Into Oblivion will be released on March 13 via Epic Records, but you can preorder your copy today. Lamb of God are also going to be headlining a killer tour with Kublai Khan TX, Fit For An Autopsy, and Sanguisugabogg in the not too distant future.
