Off-Duty Police Officer Critically Injured In Fight With Bouncers Outside Nashville Bar, Losers

Working security for bars in Nashville is no doubt a tough job. You have thousands of drunk people coming through the doors every day, and while most people are just there to have a good time, there are always some who take it too far.

But we’ve also seen several instances in recent years of bouncers for bars in downtown Nashville who unnecessarily escalate things and end up crossing a line, like the the 2021 incident at Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row that left 22-year-old Dallas Barrett dead and six employees charged with aggravated assault causing death and reckless homicide.

And unfortunately, another incident over the weekend at a popular midtown bar left a man critically injured after an altercation with bouncers.

According to WKRN, four off-duty Metro Nashville Police Department officers were trying to get into Losers Bar and Grill, located on Division Street in Nashville, around 9:10 PM on Saturday, August 16, but were turned away by security. The group moved across the street, but one of the off-duty police officers reportedly exchanged words with the bouncer, who crossed the street to confront him.

The verbal altercation then turned physical outside of Velvet Taco, a restaurant located directly across from Losers. And during the fight, one of the officers (it’s not clear if it was the one who exchanged words with the bouncer) was hit in the head and knocked unconscious while falling to the street.

The critically injured officer was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center in stable condition, and was ultimately released from the hospital afternoon.

No charges have been filed at this point, but the MNPD is investigating.

Several videos posted to social media show the response to the incident outside of the busy strip of bars, which also includes Riley Green’s Duck Blind and Old Dominion’s new bar, Odie’s.

I fully expect that somebody will be charged in the fight after the investigation is complete, so we’ll be sure to bring you updates if and when that happens. But remember, if you’re in Nashville, fighting with bouncers is never going to end well for you – even if you’re in the right. There are plenty of other bars, and it’s just not worth it.

Nashville Police Officer Who Looks Like Morgan Wallen Goes Viral

Morgan Wallen? Is that you?

Of course, the country superstar is on the road in Cleveland for his I’m The Problem tour, but apparently he has a body double back in Nashville keeping things in line on Broadway.

A fan who was out on the town on Music City’s most famous street got a video of a Nashville police officer standing outside of the bars, keeping an eye on things, but you might do a double take because he looks exactly like Morgan.

Well, aside from the tattoos, at least… their side profile is shockingly similar, and the irony of a Broadway cop looking just like Morgan is not lost on me, and it’s actually pretty funny. Of course, Morgan got himself into quite a bit of trouble last year when he was arrested after throwing a chair off the roof of Eric Church’s Chief’s bar, which landed very close to a group of Nashville police officers.

But I can only imagine how many times this man gets stopped on the streets by a group of drink bachelorettes who want a picture with him because they think he’s Morgan… I mean, of all places he could work, this has to be the most annoying place possible if you don’t want to hear “you look just like Morgan Wallen every two seconds:
