I don’t think it was worth it…

Miley Cyrus is gearing up to release her ninth studio Something Beautiful album on May 30th, which consists of 13 songs, and it will be accompanied by a full-length film. The movie will be released on June 27th, and in theaters for one night only as well, and Cyrus co-directed the film with Jacob Bixenman and Brendan Walter.

She’s been doing tons of press to promote it, and during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, she revealed how much she really went through to make it all happen.

One of the videos was shot at The Hollywood Walk of Fame, which features her rolling around all over the ground, and I’ll be honest, I can’t really even stomach the thought of any part of my body touching the ground in Los Angeles.

Miley admitted that it was pretty gross, and that:

“I caught something.”

Kimmel responded that she’s lucky she didn’t end up with a “hypodermic needle in your body,” when in reality she ended up much worse off. Miley said that they filmed that video in October, and by Thanksgiving in November, she was in the ICU with an infection.

“So, funny you say that. Because I filmed this video in October, and by November at Thanksgiving I was put in ICU for a moment, just for a moment. But it was mostly because it was Thanksgiving, there was a lot of people in the ER, people choking on turkey legs or whatever. My leg began to disintegrate in some way around the kneecap area.

The doctor goes, ‘Do you have any idea why you would have such a brutal infection on your kneecap?’ And I just saw myself… and I had to tell him. To have a surgeon look at you and say, ‘Yuck.’ They open up cadavers, they see inside the guts of humans and they’re looking at me telling me I’m disgusting. And they do brain operations.”

She explained that while she had a decent budget, there wasn’t enough to have the Walk of Fame cleaned off before she went to roll around on it, and she’d spent most of the money on clothes anyways. I feel like cleaning that nasty ground should’ve been the priority, clearly, but hindsight is always 20/20, I guess.

Not only did she get a bad infection, but they filmed it all at night, which made it much scarier in addition to it being flat out gross:

“With this movie, I had a big dream, and a small budget. Well, I had a pretty good budget, but I spent it all on my clothes. Then when it came time to go to the Walk of Fame, they’re like, what are you gonna do? Are you gonna clean this thing or what? Because that’s really out of your price range.

I’m like, no, we’ll just go in the middle of the night. Have you been to the Walk of Fame in the middle of the night? I thought it was my last day.”

I sure hope this video ended up exactly how she wanted it, because that is quite a journey just to get video rolling around on the ground. I guess a replica would’ve been out of the question since they were already have budget constraints, but I think the lesson here is to spring some of the money on cleaning, not clothes.

Miley joked that she’s afraid no one would want to see it now, though, because of that “filthy” story behind it:

“I wanted this video to be so fabulous, and now I’ve just told everyone such a filthy [story].”

I’m actually way more interested in watching it now than I ever would’ve been without hearing this story, and it’s a good warning that, if you for some reason had ever planned on doing something like this, maybe think twice and throw a little soap on it first… or don’t do it at all.
