Honestly, it’s good advice.

Maybe a little bit easier said than done, but still… good advice.

Megan Moroney is no stranger to getting her heart broken, and it’s something that is a big focus of her music. Her first two albums, Lucky and Am I Okay?, are filled with songs about relationships gone wrong and how she did, or didn’t, recover from the end of whatever kind of romance it was. Megan’s love life has also become a hot topic for fans online, and she’s been linked to country stars like Morgan Wallen and more recently, Riley Green.

Fans think she might’ve confirmed they’re an item yesterday with a certain comment on a TikTok video, and I have no idea if their status is “official” or not, but during a red carpet appearance ahead of the AMA’s a couple weeks ago, she was asked about advice on how to help others get over breakups because of how much she talks about it in her music.

Megan says you should always follow your gut instinct even if it’s hard to leave, and then, you should block someone if it’s the kind of thing where you’re going to keep going in circles when you shouldn’t even be talking anymore. She joked that sometimes she has to block a guy so she doesn’t keep reaching out to them, rather than it being the other way around:

“To get over an ex, I don’t know. I think that if your gut knows they’re not right for you, you probably just need to walk away, and it’s tough. It’s hard to leave, but it’s a lot harder to stay in a relationship that isn’t good for you.

I always tell my friends too, I’m like, ‘block them. Literally, block them.’ Oh yeah, don’t reach out to me. But also, I gotta block you so I don’t reach out to you.”

When she was asked if that is “petty” when in the wake of a breakup, Megan explained that sometimes it’s actually the best choice, and she summed it up by saying you should just “block them and find someone hotter,” and I’m totally on board with that:

“I think if you know that it’s just gonna keep going in circles, you just gotta block them and find someone hotter.”

Amen to that one, sister… she’s so right, and it really is as simple as that:
