William Clark Green Joins Treaty Oak Revival For Killer Performance Of “West Texas Degenerate” Live In Houston

What a way to cap off the year.
In many ways, 2025 was the year of the breakout for many formerly fan-favorites and other slept-on artists and bands throughout multiple subgenres in country music. Of course, you had the likes of Zach Top and The Red Clay Strays score huge wins at the CMA Awards back in November with Top winning New Aritst of the Year and Red Clay shockingly dethroning Old Dominion en route to taking home Vocal Group of the Year.
With that being said, the band with a similarly huge breakout, despite an award to back it up, was none other than Treaty Oak Revival.
If you’ve been paying any attention to the country/southern rock scene the past couple years, you were well-aware that the band hailing from West Texas was bound for a breakout. After scoring major buzz upon the release of their sophomore album, Have A Nice Day, in 2023, the sky was truly the limit for Treaty Oak.
And to no one’s surprise, when they released their third studio album, West Texas Degenerate, back on November 28th, they scored some major career milestones. Following release week, Treaty Oak has scored their first #1 on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums and Americana/Folk Albums charts. It’s of course the biggest debut of their career so far, and the album also debuted at #2 on Billboard’s Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart, #3 on Top Country Albums chart, #21 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart, and #30 on Top Billboard Canadian Albums, with each previously unreleased song taking over the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart.
With 2025 coming to a close on Wednesday, Treaty Oak sent the year out with a major bang, performing their final concert of the year in Houston, Texas at the Toyota Center. Though there were plenty of highs throughout the show, ranging from their always-wild performance of “Boomtown” as well as other smash hits such as “In Between,” “Ode To Bourbon,” “Stop & Stare” and plenty of new tracks off West Texas Degenerate.
Though the night was jam-packed with killer performances from West Texas natives, arguably the most memorable one came quite early in the night when William Clark Green joined them to perform “West Texas Degenerate” for the first time together live.
After Treaty Oak handled the song’s first two verses and choruses, similarly to the studio version, Green would join the band onstage for the bridge and final chorus. Before the “She Likes the Beatles” singer would deliver the opening lines to the bridge, Treaty Oak’s frontman, Sam Canty, would hype his fellow Texan up, telling the crowd, “Make some noise for William Clark Green, motherf******!”
Smiling, Green would deliver the wild bride flawlessly alongside Canty, red solo cup in hand.
“This life, it ain’t for everyone out in the Wild West
You learn to fuck and fight and lay some pipe
Get drunk and go to bed
And if you just can’t find sleep between the party and the pain
Well, you can stay up ’til the sunrise with the help of some cocaine
Yeah, I got the good cocaine”
It’s safe to say that Green, Treaty Oak and company gave the crowd a New Year’s Eve that they will never forget.
