The turn of a new year is the perfect time to not only reflect on the last 12 months, but also to look forward at the months ahead. All of that is exactly what heavy metal titan Tony Iommi did in a four minute video he posted online.

Of course, 2025 was a bit of a rocky year for the Black Sabbath camp, having not only gotten to celebrate their career with a massive retirement concert event but also having to say goodbye to the late Ozzy Osbourne who passed away just weeks after.

In addition to those events, Iommi talked a bit about the Black Sabbath ballet, his collab with Robbie Williams, and a buncha other stuff. But for our purposes here on MetalSucks, the most exciting bit that came up in the video was the reveal that Iommi’s third solo album is going to be released later this year.

“I shall have definitely, definitely my solo album out. And I’m really looking forward to that. I’m enjoying doing it, and it’s been great fun, and I really hope you enjoy it.”

Along with the new album, Iommi said guitar company Gibson is working on a documentary about the Birmingham-born guitarist. So from what he’s shared, it looks like 2026 is going to kick some ass.
