Luke Bryan & His Wife Have Tattoos Of Each Other’s Initials In A Wild Place

I could’ve probably gone without know this, but here we are…

This season of American Idol just ended, with Jamal Roberts taking home the win. It was the first season with former winner Carrie Underwood as a judge, and she joined Lionel Richie and fellow country star Luke Bryan on the panel and seemed to be a great fit with the two of them.

I didn’t watch this season, I haven’t watched Idol in years to be honest, but the clips and videos of some of the auditions and performances I saw were really good, so it seemed like they had good artists in the competition and I’m sure it was helpful to the contestants to have someone as a judge who has been through the process before and knows what it feels like to be their spot in Carrie.

The three judges seemed to have great on-screen chemistry too, and they’ve done a lot of press together throughout the season to promote the show, but somehow, I missed a great interview they did with Drew Barrymore on The Drew Barrymore Show, where she asked all of them who their teenaged celebrity crushes were. Carrie said she was in the Jonathan Taylor Thomas fan club as a teenager (so valid), Lionel couldn’t think of one from when he was that young but said he was smitten the first time he met Halle Berry, and Luke said his was model Elle Macpherson.

But that also led to a discussion about Luke’s wife, Caroline, who he has been married to since 2006. They have two biological sons, and they adopted their three nieces and nephews after his sister and brother-in-law tragically passed away. Between music and all those kids, they stay busy, but Caroline found a creative, I guess you could say, way to keep things exciting…

Drew put Luke on the spot by asking:

“By the way, is it true you might have a tattoo on… for your wife?”

And he admitted that it’s true, she has one of his initials on her behind, and she was “sure” that he would never do the same… well, one day when he was out on tour, he decided to go ahead and return the favor, so to speak (I’m guessing alcohol might’ve been involved as well), and he got “CB” on his backside too:

“So my wife started this, by the way. She started the tattoo thing. She did an ‘LB’ on her booty cheek. She just was sure that I would never reciprocate, and one day out on the road, I said, ‘Let’s find a parlor.’ And [I] went, and pulled the old ham out, and got her initials on my booty cheek. ‘CB.'”

Couples that get matching tattoos on their backsides stay together? Or something like that? I have no idea, but I definitely didn’t see that coming… the reaction of Carrie and Lionel is priceless, too. They’ve certainly learned a whole lot about each other this season (probably more than they wanted to), and it’s pretty funny. Drew is a little out there, but she asks some great questions on her show and you can watch the interview here;
