Electronic music in 2025 can often feel too glossy and over-produced, which makes Hamdi's deliberate ugliness on his new EP, Abomination, feel like necessary surgery.

Released independently, the project finds the EDM.com Class of 2024 artist producing a collection of five monstrosities that refuse the desperate gleam of today's festival circuit. Hamdi kicks the door down with "Lamp," opening the EP with his signature dubstep wobbles alongside Visages, the esteemed producer on Alix Perez's 1985 Music.

Then comes Abomination's titular track, which throws caution to the wind with its filthy drops. The same can be said of the ensuing "Orchid," a collaboration with LYNY where the trap phenom runs roughshod through an arrangement bursting with his signature squelching bass.

The EP follows with "Ride Up to the Door," a rave banger that commands footwork through its frenetic four-on-the-floor rhythm. Hamdi then switches gears with "Move On," closing the EP with a stunning liquid UK garage track.
