Is it wrong to say that Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin got catfished?

Ole Miss Head Coach Lane Kiffin is one of the more outspoken personalities in all of college football – especially when it comes to banter on social media. Not only is he a damn good football coach (he’s one of many football minds from the Nick Saban coaching tree), the Ole Miss head coach is a pretty entertaining guy off the field.

Kiffin has been coaching the Ole Miss Rebels since 2020, and he’s done a damn good job down in Oxford, Mississippi. His team has been to four straight bowl games, including two New Year’s Six appearances. That’s a pretty respectable run, especially in the heavyweight Southeastern Conference.

Though he’s a great coach, Lane Kiffin remains a polarizing figure in college football. It’s hard to put a finger on why, though his outspokenness about whatever is on his mind probably has something to do with it. You can’t stop Lane Kiffin… you can only hope to contain him. And I’m not even talking about his traditionally high-flying offense.

Take this situation, for example. Hannah Barron, who is also known as “The Catfish Girl,” recently posted some pictures of some massive catfish she had caught by noodling. That method of fishing is very hands on, and by that I mean you stick your hand into the places where catfish live, and pull them right out.

Like Hannah Barron does:

She’s braver than I am, that’s for sure.

Lane Kiffin showcased his braveness as well, though he wasn’t noodling for catfish. Instead, the 50-year-old head coach simply saw Hannah Barron’s post and reposted it with the simple hashtag/invitation “Come To The Sip.” For those that don’t know, the “Sip” is just the shortened version of Mississippi, and it’s often used to refer to Ole Miss.
