Darius Rucker Helps Raise Over $815K For St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital With Annual Benefit Concert & Golf Tournament

Doing it for the kids.

Earlier this week, Darius Rucker hosted his 16th annual “Darius and Friends” benefit concert ahead of CMA Fest kicking off, which featured tons of special guests throughout the evening including Tyler Braden, Luke Bryan, Kashus Culpepper, Lanie Gardner, Austin Williams and a surprise performance from Morgan Wallen at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Rucker also had a golf tournament yesterday, and the two-day event raised a record-setting $815,000+ for St. Jude’s, which brings the the all-time total to more than $5.1 million.

It’s incredibly impressive that they were able to raise that much money in just two days, and obviously, it’s going to do a lot of good for kids who are battling unimaginably hard diseases and illnesses. Rucker says he knew he wanted to do more to help from the first time he visited St. Jude’s in 2008:

“When we visited St. Jude’s campus in 2008, I pledged to help and here we are. The work they’re doing – the research, the breakthroughs – it’s incredible. And I’ll say this over-and-over; what gets me every time is knowing that families never get a bill. Not for treatment, travel, housing or food. That kind of support changes everything for families going through extraordinary circumstances, and I’m proud that my friends and I can be a small part of that relief.”

The annual fundraising event helps ensure families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food, and clearly this donation is going to do so much good for so many families, and it’s becoming an amazing tradition for country music fans to not only enjoy great music, but really be able to help make a difference in so many lives.

Rucker is set to perform at Nissan Stadium tomorrow as part of CMA Fest, and his Darius Rucker Live tour kicks off in July. He will also put on his annual Riverfront Revival music festival at North Charleston’s Riverfront Park in October, which features an absolutely stacked lineup including Riley Green, The Red Clay Strays, Whiskey Myers, Flatland Cavalry, Lukas Nelson, Dylan Marlowe, Kashus Culpepper, Brittney Spencer, Clay Street Unit, Neon Union, Austin Williams, Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country, Warrick McZeke, Faith Schueler, Whiskey Run and Elizabeth Covington.
