Chevrolet might already have the “Commercial of the Holiday Season” locked down.

Anyone that’s watched any amount of television in – let’s just say the past five years – knows that there have been plenty of eye-roll-worthy advertisements. In an attempt to be inclusive, various companies have unintentionally alienated large amounts of the consumer population.

Just look at the “Bud Light Boycott”… consumers started reminding companies they are the ones that have the power.

Some brands took those consumer boycotts hard, and it was interesting to see how other, non-affected companies reacted to the negative responses. They made sure to stray away from isolating and singling-out any one group of people, and one could argue that we’re now seeing a movement back to commercials that just focus on sharing and/or selling the product.

That pivot is showcased in this latest Christmas ad from Chevrolet. Their commercial, which stretches over three minutes and actually plays more like a short film, tells the story of how pivotal a Chevy Suburban was in the life of a family during years and years of the holidays. It’s the perfect example of telling a story with an advertisement and featuring the product you are trying to market it in it, rather than pushing an agenda.

And boy, oh boy does it get the waterworks going:

I’m not crying… YOU are crying.

This time of the year, people just want to see commercials that embody and exemplify the true meaning of Christmas. One of the pillars of the holiday season is spending time with family, and this new Chevy ad-spot presented how their product can help foster those memory-making moments. It’s truly one of the more touching modern advertisements that I can remember (a lot better than those stupid, big-bowed car commercials).

Social media and the world at large have been praising the Chevrolet commercial, as you’ll see in the comments that were shared below the post:

And you know what the best part about the ad could be? It’s a real ad that features real people, and it was made by real people. Not like what Coca-Cola did with their AI-generated Christmas disgrace (they’ve rolled out an artificial intelligence ad two years in a row).

Shoutout to Chevy for making us all feel something, and I’d argue that the song choice for the background of the advertisement played an important and critical role in delivering the family-first message:

“To Build a Home” by The Cinematic Orchestra
