Charges Dismissed Against Gavin Adcock After Reckless Driving Arrest In Tennessee Earlier This Year
Got it all worked out. Back on May 21, Gavin Adcock was arrested in Wilson County, Tennessee, just outside of Nashville, on charges of reckless driving and open container. Got it all worked out.
Back on May 21, Gavin Adcock was arrested in Wilson County, Tennessee, just outside of Nashville, on charges of reckless driving and open container. According to records from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Adcock was arrested at 11:15 PM and released on a $1,000 bond at 4:34 AM.
After being released (and announcing a new single called “Morning Bail”), Gavin took to social media to explain what lead to his arrest – and as it turns out, he had his lead foot a little (a lot) too heavy on the pedal:
“I bought my dream car.. a 1973 Dodge Challenger. Over the past few months I’ve been putting money into it, getting it running as good as new, and decided I wanted to take it for a joy ride. The car ran great. I got pulled over and arrested for reckless driving going 103 in Wilson County, TN.
I wrote this song a few months back and planned to put it out on the album, but I figured there’s no better time than now.”
And yesterday, Gavin was back in court for a hearing on the charges…and he gave fans a scare when he posted a video saying he just got out of court and would be going away for a while:
@gavinadcockmusic Not really but I hope y’all love this album
Of course Gavin was just joking. According to Wilson County, Tennessee court records, the misdemeanor reckless driving and open container charges were dismissed, as were his traffic citations for invalid license (it looks like Gavin hadn’t updated his license to reflect his Tennessee residency) and registration, and Gavin instead plead guilty to only a speeding ticket.
Not a bad resolution, and luckily Gavin won’t be spending any time behind bars.
The country music wild child released his third album, Own Worst Enemy, last Friday, and has spent part of the summer out on tour with Morgan Wallen on his I’m The Problem tour.
He also recently made headlines after an altercation at a festival in South Carolina with…the sound guy for Nickelback.
According to Gavin, it all started when somebody set a drink down on a soundboard:
“So let’s go ahead and get this straight. There was a drink sitting on the soundboard. It wasn’t my dad’s, it was my acoustic guitar player’s mom’s. Sound dude comes around the corner, sees the drink, slings it off the soundboard, it’s empty by the way, and goes to cussing out my acoustic guitar player’s mom.
So my dad hears it probably about 5-10 yards away, steps over, gets in the dude’s face, basically tells him, ‘You better back up, dude, because people from the south don’t act that way. I don’t know where you’re from, but you need to get out of here.’
So I saw that happen, and I watched him. He goes over there and gets on his phone like a little snake. I said he’s about to do some bull. I’m up there singing ‘Cigarette.’ And he gets security to come down there, and I see them, and they are about to grab my dad, and I just run down the alley and tell them, ‘Nah, you ain’t kicking me out, he’s the one causing problems.’ So security got him, took him on his way. That was it.”
