Two new ones coming in hot from Carter Fatih.

Carter Faith has been releasing some stellar tracks lately, such as “Grudge” and “Sex, Drugs and Country Music.” The streak of stellar releases continues with her latest drop, “Bar Star,” along with a surprise bonus track, “Billy Bob Thornton (Worktape).” Both of these tunes Faith has shared snippets of across social media, and fans were betting on both.

“Billy Bob Thornton,” of course, is penned after the famed actor and musician.

While Billy Bob Thornton is not someone I’d often think of as a silver fox, Faith shared that she was always drawn to his characters, wanting to marry them all.

I wrote this song about Billy Bob Thornton because I literally love him. I’ve always thought he was so talented, and I’ve wanted to marry many of the characters he’s played over the years. I just had to write about it, and I hope people like this little glimpse into my one-track mind.”

Recently, Faith had the opportunity to perform the track in front of Billy Bob Thornton, who appears to give the rough-around-the-edges love song his stamp of approval.

While that kind of love sounds like a good time, it often is a little toxic and ends in a train wreck. But ladies, we all know those lead to the best stories:

“I want a man like Billy Bob Thornton
Tough as nails, but his head’s a wreck
He’ll prove to me that I’m important
Wear my blood around his neck
That’s how I like ’em
Just don’t quite know how to find ’em
Hell I know I’m a contradiction
I’m always falling for a work of fiction
Probably get divorced
Hey, that’s just fine
I’d be a pretty good ex-wife…”

Speaking of liking a man who’s a little rougher around the edges, the other single that Faith released, “Bar Star,” perfectly depicts her taste in men.

The honky tonk twanger tells the tale about liking a man who does not have a 9-to-5 or his ducks in a row. Instead, Faith says that she likes a man that she meets under a neon bar sign. The moan of the steel guitar sets the tone for the unconventional love song, and just as Faith has in many of her other songs, she uses witty lyrics and plays off of words to create a catchy and captivating tune.

“My baby’s a bar star
A damn livin’, drinkin’ work of art
He gets to sipping and he goes too far
But I don’t mind it, kinda like it, when he goes too far
He’s a happy hour hero
He’s always gettin’ Keystoned
Bless his liver and his honkytonk heart
‘Cause my baby’s a bar star”

After hearing “Bar Star,” I have a perfectly painted image in my mind of what kind of Miss Carter Faith is drawn to, and I like it.

Turn it all the way up.

“Bar Star” is set to appear on Carter Faith’s upcoming album, Cherry Valley, out everywhere on October 3rd.
