Zach Bryan To Release Live Cover Of “Atlantic City” With Bruce Springsteen & Kings Of Leon’s Frontman Caleb Followill

“Been a hell of a summer.”
To say it’s been a summer to remember for Zach Bryan would simply be an understatement. Despite not releasing a full-length project this year, the “Something in the Orange” singer has still been quite busy release-wise. On top of “Blue Jean Baby” and “Dear Miss,” both of which were released back in the winter during the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl, he kept his streak of sporadic single drops throughout the summer.
After kicking off his busy summer in June with the controversial re-release of “Memphis; The Blues,” this time featuring bandmate J.R. Carroll, Bryan would follow that up with an additional six songs throughout the season. These songs, of course, being the three-track release of “Streets of London,” “River Washed Hair” and “A Song For You,” as well as his latest crossovers, “Madeline” (feat. Gabriella Rose) and his double-dip with Kings of Leon on “Bowery” and “We’re Onto Something.”
From a touring standpoint, the Oklahoma native has also been dominating throughout the summer.
In addition to his recent sell-out of over 80,000 with Shane Gillis this past weekend at Notre Dame Stadium, he has also sold out the likes of Red Rocks, Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford for three straight nights, BST Hyde Park in London for two nights, Phoenix Park in Dublin, Ireland, for three straight nights and Joan C. Edwards Stadium in Huntington, West Virginia.
Simply put, he’s been killing it… despite all the noise surrounding his public breakup.
To wrap up the successful summer, Bryan has decided to release one final song to commemorate it. That song is none other than a live cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “Atlantic City” with Kings of Leon’s Caleb Followill and The Boss himself, which is coming out this Friday.
As previously mentioned, the live performance of “Atlantic City” comes from none other than his second of three nights at MetLife Stadium back in July, when Springsteen surprised the sold-out crowd of over 80,000 and played it live with Bryan before returning again for an electric rendition of “Revival” to close the show.
It should go without saying that “Atlantic City” is nothing short of a folk-rock classic. Appearing on Springsteen’s iconic 1982 album, Nebraska, the track has remained one of the key pieces of his extensive discography. Though many point to it being Canadian rock group, The Band’s, song due to the popularity of their cover, the track has been and will remain, Springsteen’s.
Since the “Atlantic City” has already been performed (and subsequently recorded by thousands at this point), we pretty know exactly what we’re getting upon its release. With that being said, the already phenomenal performance between the three giants of their respective genres and eras will be perfected with a quality sound recording this time around.
As a huge fan of all three artists, I love the fact that Bryan is giving this all-time live performance an official release. While we wait for the polished version coming Friday, you can watch the full live performance from MetLife here:
