Zach Bryan Seemingly Addresses Gavin Adcock Altercation Ahead Of Michigan Stadium Show: “I Will Never Regret A Thing”

Is this Zach Bryan addressing what went down at Born & Raised Fast in Pryor, Oklahoma?

It appears that this might be as close to a response as we will ever get from the Oklahoma native after his viral altercation with Gavin Adcock during a music festival. I won’t really go into all the details, because I’m sure anyone who cares has seen it by now, but long story short… Gavin called Zach out after Zach aggressively responded to a 14-year-old girl on TikTok who complained that he didn’t stop and meet with fans in New York.

Truth is, Zach spent time with fans on two of the three nights and surely didn’t know this close chasing fan was a 14 year old girl, but it provoked a response from Gavin nevertheless. Then Gavin sat down for another interview with Rolling Stone and doubled down, saying that he didn’t think that Zach was a very good guy. And thanks to his relationship with Brianna LaPaglia, I believe there are quite a lot of people who would share that sentiment.

At Born & Raised, Zach joined Gabriella Rose during her opening set, and even hijacked the duet to call Gavin out from the stage… again, not the best look for Zach. He allegedly saw Gavin through a fence as he was leaving and stopped to confront him, hopping over the fence, before he was grabbed by security, and no punches were thrown.

Afterwards, Gavin said:

“Had a headline show to play. Dude was absolutely wasted. Had to do what was good for the fans. Everybody knows how that woulda have ended.”

And in another comment on his own post, Gavin confirms that he didn’t want to fight Zach because he didn’t want to go to jail before his own headlining set:

“Had a show to play for Oklahoma. Wasn’t going to jail over that psycho.”

And he summed it up with the caption on his own TikTok post:

“Dude needs help.”

Adcock later made another video, further explaining the situation, and admitted that he had egged on Zach Bryan to jump the fence.

And in typical Gavin Adcock fashion, he has continued to troll Zach Bryan after the incident went down, posting memes and taking shots at the “Something In The Orange” singer.

While I do think that jumping a barbed wire fence is not a good idea and is definitely a wild act, the truth has to lie somewhere in the middle. Benjamin Tod came to Zach Bryan’s defense after the altercation, when the whole internet seemed to be siding with Gavin, to say that ZB had every right to stir something up with Adcock after he had blasted him multiple times online.

“Just wanted to say, a lot of y’all… softer than baby s*** in this community. It’s a part of basic male accountability to be held responsible for your words. If y’all think Zach’s a psycho and cuckoo, put me in the nut house. ‘Cause that s*** I would have eaten before breakfast back in the day.

You had been talking s*** about this person non-stop, bringing up his name, dragging him through the dirt, then he confronts you face to face. You tell him to jump the fence, you call him a p****, and then it’s supposed to be him who’s the psycho? Because he acts and actually tries to hold you accountable.”

While Zach Bryan had been radio silent on the matter, per usual, he seemingly addressed the situation in a recent post ahead of his sold-out, potentially record-setting show at Michigan Stadium with John Mayer, Ryan Bingham and The Texas Gentlemen, and Joshua Slone.

Bryan is set to take the stage on September 27th, and he penned a rather cryptic note to fans before the event, sharing that this chapter of his life has been one of the hardest, and that he needs to make music fun for himself again.

He said:

“Last show of the year at Michigan stadium this week. Been the worst and best few years of my life. So ready for the chapter to end. Gotta go make music fun to myself again. So excited to see everyone there, I love everyone that’s been here this whole time so much and I’m gonna try to give it my all justa’ one more time.

Each day I pray people understand I will never regret a thing and I am proud of myself, my family and my friends. There could be a million assholes who have never had a unique thought in their life preaching a million pounds of negativity and bullshit, and it wouldn’t be worth a single soul who’s found strength and shelter in true songwriting and good live performances.

Have a good day guys, god speed.”

I think it’s safe to say that the last paragraph is taking mild aim at Adcock.

Given the sober tone of this post, it also makes me wonder, as a reader, if we will see ZB take a short hiatus after his final show of the calendar year and if he will cut back on touring even more next year. Only time will tell, but it does feel like ZB needs to take some time away from these bright lights to reconnect with music and find peace in his life. It’s been an absolute whirlwind for Zach these past few years, and for someone who wears their heart on their as much as he does, I imagine it can’t be that easy. At the same time, Zach brings some of the heat on himself.

But at the end of the day, we’re all trying to navigate life, make a living, provide for out families, find love, find peace… seems like we could all have a little more grace right now.

Say what you want about Zach Bryan, but he’s still selling out stadiums and setting records, and soon will beat George Strait’s Texas A&M Kyle Field record-breaking concert. Michigan Stadium is the largest in the U.S., officially holding 107,601 people, although it has accommodated crowds of more than 115,000. In June of 2024, George Strait packed 110,905 people into Texas A&M’s Kyle Field, breaking the record for the North American attendance record for ticketed concerts. This concert is expected to break that record with over 112,000 sold.

Before making this post, Bryan also shared an Instagram story that seemingly builds on his thoughts about not regretting anything and standing on his own business.

“A man is likely to mind his own business when it is worth minding. When it is not, he takes his mind off his own meaningless affairs by minding other people’s business. This minding of other people’s business expresses itself in gossip, snooping and meddling, and also in feverish interest in communal, national, and racial affairs. In running away from ourselves, we either fall on our neighbor’s shoulder or fly at his throat.”

The quote comes from Eric Hoffer’s book “The True Believer: Thoughts on the Nature of Mass Movements,” and I have to say, I see no lies detected. It’s reminiscent of “empty cans make the most noise,” a motto we’ve adopted here at Whiskey Riff.

I think this is the most we will get from ZB regarding a response to the Born & Raised altercation, which is good enough for me. Hopefully, this puts all the drama to rest, and we can return to focusing on artists’ music rather than online drama. The post Zach Bryan Seemingly Addresses Gavin Adcock Altercation Ahead Of Michigan Stadium Show: “I Will Never Regret A Thing” first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
