Thin Lizzy’s Scott Gorham Joins The Fox Project Charity
It’s nice to know that there’s still good out there. There’s A LOT out there that needs the attention of someone with an actual working, empathetic heart, but for the sake of this story, we’re talking about Thin Lizzy guitarist Scott Gorham. He loves foxes, and he recently made a move to show that more by becoming the newest patron of The Fox Project charity.
As you can imagine, The Fox Project’s mission is pretty straightforward—to rescue, rehabilitate and provide overall support for injured, sick, and orphaned baby foxes. How absolutely goddamn adorable.
Gorham had this to say about foxes and his recent joining of the charity:
“Too many people think of foxes as pests, whereas we think the opposite of these fascinating animals. Over the past 20 years we have welcomed, observed, nurtured and even treated several generations of them in our own back garden and felt privileged by their presence.
“We were most impressed by the hard work and dedication of the team at The Fox Project and I am truly honored to be considered as one of the patrons to help support and raise awareness of this wonderful organization. We all have to join forces to help our indigenous wildlife — or lose them forever.”
The Fox Project has been in operation since 1993, caring for more than 1,000 foxes each year and trying to get people to stop being so damn mean to them. As Trevor Williams, founder and administrator of The Fox Project, puts it: “The importance of The Fox Project, as we see it, is to get people to understand and tolerate sharing their environment with foxes.”
