Who Is Oliver Anthony’s Wife?

Oliver Anthony’s many fans are questioning who the “Scornful Woman” is that he refers to in his latest single.

Last week, the viral “Rich Men North of Richmond” singer released a new single, which is much different from the sound he’s been accustomed to with his raw production and acoustic guitar in the past. The rip-roaring song is rage-filled, fiery, and coming from a place of unbridled intensity.

“Scornful Woman” highlights the bitter pain of divorce. In the lyrics, Anthony sings about a woman who did him wrong, but then in the next verse, it graduates to the struggle of a divorce where the “math just doesn’t add up.” Enter some rippin’ fiddle licks and the squeal of an electric guitar in the bridge, but then it takes an extremely personal turn:

“She can have all the money
And they can keep all the fame
I’d go back to being broke as a joke
If I could just get a break from the pain…”

Oliver says the song was recorded during the middle of a snowstorm when the power went out, but they were able to pick up a generator and make it happen. 

“My house got hit with one of the worst snowstorms in years, the night before we were supposed to record. We managed to haul the entire band and all our gear up the mountain using side by sides. Not long after we settled in, the ice started and the power went out. Lowes in Bluefield ended up having one generator left… and that evening we recorded this.”

The song is raw with emotion, and after listening to it, one easily wonders how he drew inspiration to write such bitter lyrics. Well, that’s because he lived it. After “Scornful Woman” was released, Joe Rogan shared the backstory of the tune on The Joe Rogan Experience.

Rogan gave some backstory on Anthony’s rapid rise to fame. At the time of his discovery, Anthony moved his family off the grid. Before getting into the details about “Scornful Woman,” Rogan also shares that Anthony reached out to him for advice regarding all of the record label offers coming his way after “Rich Men North Of Richmond” went viral overnight.

“Oliver Anthony has no money, right? He’s poor; he’s selling farm equipment. He puts this song on YouTube, he’s a f****** super star, he doesn’t know what to do, he freaks out.

He asks me for advice. I call him on the phone and we have a conversation for like a f***** hour. I go, ‘Don’t sign anything with anybody.’ And he goes, ‘They are telling me I’ve got to strike while the iron’s hot.’ And I go, ‘Bulls***. They are trying to steal money from you.’ I go, ‘You’re independent. You’re already there, you’ve already made it. I know if you wrote that song, you can write a dozen of those f***** songs. You don’t need anybody.’ 

He goes, ‘They are offering me seven million dollars.’ I go, ‘No, they are offering to steal money from you for the rest of your life.’ That’s what they are doing. I go, ‘You don’t need them, you have talent.’” 

Then Joe shares some rather intimate details about Anthony’s seemingly pending divorce, and how it sparked this song. The “Scornful Woman” is Oliver’s wife, Tiffany, and from the side of the story we’re given, it sounds like she’s trying to take as much money as she can off him.

“He starts making millions of dollars, playing arenas. The wife divorces him. She wants everything. She wants EVERYTHING. She wants more than half. She wants all the money he’s going to be making in the future because she was with him when he was broke. It’s f***** crazy. He’s just tortured. He wants to die. Wants to die — and writes this song.”

OOF…. imagine getting a track like this written about you amid a divorce. Shane Gillis said it best when he responded:

“He just ethered his wife.”

So… all of that begs the question…

Who Is Oliver Anthony’s Wife? 

Since the song’s release, many fans have wondered who this “Scornful Woman” is. Sadly, you’re not going to find much about her online because, just like before Anthony’s rise to fame, she lives a very quiet life out of the public eye.

But here is what we do know.

As we mentioned, Anthony’s wife’s name is Tiffany. Given that his legal name is Christopher Anthony Lunsford, she goes by Tiffany Lunsford.

As he noted in a very detailed Facebook biography, Tiffany and Anthony lived off the grid in a “27′ camper with a tarp on the roof that I got off of Craigslist for $750,” at the time of his discovery. His Facebook location has had his hometown listed as Farmville, Virginia, since his viral moment, and based on his videos, it appears he still lives on a lot of land, often featuring videos in the woods or hiking with his dogs.

Tiffany’s social media features a lot of baby content, and she appears to work in a vet clinic. Tiffany posted a birthday post in 2021, sharing that she was 32, which would now make her 36. It should also be noted that while her Instagram features pictures of Oliver, they do not follow each other on the platform.

He has two children with Tiffany, and an older daughter from his previous marriage. In 2022, Tiffany posted photos of a newborn baby girl whom she referred to as “June Bug,” and then in 2023, the couple welcomed a baby boy into the world, which Oliver posted on social media:

In an article from the New York Post, Tiffany’s own grandfather says Oliver a “dedicated family man,” and added the two are very happy together:

“She and Chris define happiness. They’re happy. They’re something else. Chris is a religious type person. He doesn’t cuss or make threats. He is just a fine person.”

He also adds that he never liked Oliver’s music until more recently, and that he’s not a great musician, but that his songwriting all comes from a very real place.

“I don’t think he can play good. If you listen, he mixes in the words with the plunking. I listen to Chris’s music every day. I didn’t like it at first…but it’s all true.”

God bless grandpa… he doesn’t care who is gonna read this article, he’s a straight shooter. Overall, there’s not much information on Tiffany or what caused the demise of their marriage, but there is always two sides to every story, and as this TikToker said, I’d love to hear hers.

A number of comments have speculated that Oliver has a lot of money now and could very easily move their family into a VERY comfortable situation, but he would rather live off the grid in the woods. He travels to play shows and she got tired of raising 3 kids in a camper. Once again, pure speculation, but a number of comments seemed to echo a similar line of thinking.
