“We need to continue to spread the love of Jesus because that’s the cure.”

On Wednesday, September 10, conservative media personality and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk was shot and killed while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University.

In the wake of his death, an outpouring of support came around the country from the likes of President Donald Trump, the New York Yankees, who held a moment of silence before their game Wednesday night, Joe Rogan, as well as a plethora of country stars, including Jason Aldean, Gavin Adcock, HARDY, Parker McCollum, John Rich, Kane Brown, Randy Houser and more.

Despite the overwhelming amount of support from both sides of the aisle, notably former Presidents Joe Biden and Barack Obama, as well as key Democratic figures such as Gavin Newsom, Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, all condemning the act of violence, it still didn’t stop many from celebrating his senseless murder.

Beyond your anonymous internet troll celebrating and making fun of Kirk’s death, a member of the Carolina Panthers’ communication staff and a Dean of Students at Middle Tennessee State University were fired for making light of the act and saying he deserved it. Simply put, it hasn’t been uncommon to see.

With both Mitchell Ferguson and Elizabeth Nichols penning emotional songs condemning the fact that people online are celebrating the murder of a father and husband, Aaron Watson has also weighed in on TikTok.

Watson, who has never been one to shy away from speaking his mind online, first took to TikTok Wednesday night. Clearly shaken by the vitriol online, Watson shared that he couldn’t sleep with so much on his mind.

Noting the fact that a video of Kirk’s three-year-old daughter running into his arms after his recent appearance on Fox and Friends has resurfaced online, the Texas native rightly pointed out that she will never see him again. He’d also remind listeners not to combat hate with hate, instead urging everyone to give it over to God:

“I can’t sleep. I have all these videos coming across my thread of people celebrating the death of Charlie Kirk. And then I saw a video of his little girl, and she was running to him, and she said, ‘Daddy!’ And then she jumped up in his arms. And she will never get that again. Seeing so many people happy that this man was murdered, it fills me with so much anger.

It makes me want to hate them, but I’m not going to. I’m gonna hand that over to God. I’m gonna pray for them, that He can cure them of this sickness that they have in their heart and in their mind. So for you guys struggling like I am right now, just hand it over to God and just pray. Just pray”

The Texas native returned again Thursday afternoon with another TikTok. Once again noting the celebration of Kirk’s murder, Watson gave a timely reminder that the heinous actions of these individuals do not reflect the entirety of the left, instead calling those celebrating the “lost.”

The “July In Cheyenne” singer would also remind listeners that the only cure to the sickness in this country is faith and the love of Jesus:

“These videos circulating of people celebrating Charlie Kirk’s death with no regard for his wife or his kiddos, this isn’t political. This isn’t the left; this is the lost. And it has reminded me just how corrupt, cruel and broken this world is and just how we need to continue to spread the love of Jesus because that’s the cure. That’s the only cure for such sickness and hatred in the hearts and minds of these people.”

Per usual, Watson is dead on with his assessment. The solution to many of the problems in this country today cannot and will not be solved with violence and the subsequent celebration of violence. It will be solved with nonviolence, civil discussion and love for your fellow American. Though these days it feels as if those days are coming to a close, not all is lost.

As he pointed out, the only cure for the sickness in this country is the love and understanding found through faith. The post “The Love Of Jesus Is The Only Cure For Such Sickness” – Aaron Watson Speaks Out On Those Celebrating The Murder Of Charlie Kirk first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
