The Callous Daoboys Raised $19K for Pro-Immigrant Group By Selling Based as F*ck Shirt

Let’s all have a round of applause for the fine folks in The Callous Daoboys. Now, you all know I’ve been a supporter of theirs for a while now, taking any chance I can to write about them because honestly, their music fucking rules. But now I’m happy to do it because they’ve proven that they’re also willing to stand on the right side of history in the face of disgusting overreach and the illegal disappearing of people off of American streets.

Last week, the Atlanta-based mathcore outfit waded deep into political territory when it released a limited edition shirt depicting a border patrol truck on fire with “the callous daoboys says I DON’T WANT TO SEE YOU IN HEAVEN” on the front. And then if you didn’t quite understand where they stood on the whole immigration/ICE raid thing, the back simply has in big, beautiful letters “FUCK I.C.E.”, with that acronym referring to Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, the government agency that’s literally been snatching folks off the street and forcing them into vans to never be seen or heard from again.

When the band announced the shirt, they promised that all proceeds would go to the Immigrant Defense Project, which is a non-profit organization aimed at combatting “the targeting of immigrants for mass imprisonment and deportation.” That org was created 20 fucking years ago, which goes to prove how shitty America’s been to the folks coming here looking for a better life.

Through the pre-order effort, the band announced yesterday that they raised and donated $19,000 to the group through the sale of their shirt design. And that’s a hell of a win.
