Brothers Osborne Revisit The Early Days Of Their Career With Stripped Back Version Of “Love The Lonely Out Of You”

From the Pawn Shop era.

The brothers who make up Brothers Osborne are hitting a significant milestone in their career this year. In 2026, their debut album Pawn Shop will turn a decade old.

Released on January 15, 2016, Pawn Shop put John and T.J. Osborne on the map, showcasing their raw songwriting, incredible guitar solos, and genuine emotion, instantly connecting with fans. With nearly every song on the record written by John and T.J. Osborne, it showcases their willingness to take risks, push boundaries, and create a sound that was authentic to them.

The risks paid off: Pawn Shop debuted at number three on the Top Country Albums chart and at 17 on the Billboard 200. The album went RIAA certified Gold a year after its release, and hits like “21 Summer,” “Stay A Little Longer,” and “Rum” are still staples in many country music fans’ playlists.

To celebrate and honor what Pawn Shop did for the country music duo, Brothers Osborne announced Pawn Shop (10 Year Anniversary Edition), arriving February 13 via MCA. The album will feature newly released recordings, demos, or live versions from the Pawn Shop era, including the previously unreleased song “Pins And Needles.”

To kick things off, celebrating the era of Pawn Shop, the Brothers have released a live, one-take version of “Love The Lonely Out Of You.” Recorded in John Osborne’s Pinebox studio, this song was previously released on their self-titled EP, which dropped in 2014. 12 years since its release, the tune captures honest emotions through soulful lyrics that instantly connected country fans with Brothers Osborne.

This newly recorded, stripped-back version of “Love The Lonely Out Of You” highlights the emotional core of the lyrics, as the narrator longs for a human touch again. John Osborne’s vocals are silky smooth and flawlessly convey the narrator’s loneliness, while also showcasing a warm tone that reminds you of a lover trying to heal what’s been broken.

“I can tell that you’re lonely
So pour it all out on me
‘Cause I’ve been lonely, too
That’s a heartache you’re drinkin’
And I can feel what you’re thinkin’
Let’s do what the lonely do

Your lips, your shoulders, and my fingertips
Runnin’ through your hair, just like this
Whatever it takes to make your heart forget
I’ll do
Oh baby, let me love the lonely out of you
Mmmm”

Brothers Osborne has been a mainstay in country music since Pawn Shop, and revisiting songs from the early days of their career reminds fans how timeless their music is. Turn this one all the way up.
