Terry Bradshaw Jokes That He’s The “Unabomber” Amid “Ridiculous” TSA Pat Down & Luggage Search At Missouri Airport

Flying is stressful for some and a breeze for others.

I’m not personally an air traveler who has to be at the airport two hours before my flight, but I like to leave enough time to get to my gate if the TSA security line is a nightmare. That being said, TSA Pre-Check is the best $80 bucks you’ll ever spend… you’re welcome.

We all know that having to wait in line, take your shoes, belt, and all electronics out of your backpack is one of the worst parts of flying. And perhaps this is an unpopular opinion, but I think that sitting and waiting for your bag to go through the security scanner might be even worse. As a chronic over-packer, I’m always fearful that a liquid container finds its way into the bag over 4 oz, or my bag will be pulled for further searching.

If you are an unlucky flyer pulled for further pat downs or your bag is pulled for more searching, it always puts a damper on your travel experience and adds stress if you cut it close to your boarding time.

NFL legend, Terry Bradshaw, was one of these unlucky travelers the other day, flying out of the Springfield-Branson National Airport in Missouri. Bradshaw, 76, is currently on tour and performed in Springfield on Sunday night. His show is a variety-style show, which consists of him telling stories and singing. After finishing the Sunday evening show, he was leaving the airport yesterday, June 17th, and was the subject of a thorough search. However, Bradshaw was not a fan of excessive searching and shared his frustration with his social media followers. Someone, presumably his wife, filmed the interaction where he was being taken from one area of security into a more private area.

While he is being filmed, the woman behind the camera quietly shares what’s happening, noting that Bradshaw has never been this thoroughly searched, even at some of the nation’s busiest airports.

“We don’t get this much attention in New York at JFK. It’s crazy.” 

As Bradshaw walks by with the TSA officers, he looks at the woman behind the camera and jokes.

“They’ve got to go through my luggage now. I’m the Unabomber.”

Probably not the best joke to make an airport…

Then, the woman then is heard saying behind the camera:

“There they go. Terry Bradshaw is definitely a terrorist.”

Once again… not the best joke to make at an airport… especially as tensions in the Middle East are rising by the second. After being taken back for the additional search and questioning, the video footage was posted to Bradshaw’s social media pages with the following caption:

“I’m not against being safe, but… This is ridiculous!! TSA approved, had the body pat down, all the luggage checked, unpacked item by item. Now going into private room for ANOTHER pat down. Come on, Springfield, how many criminals come through here? I guess I look like one today!”

After the video gained traction online, Bradshaw shared that he has TSA Pre-Check and responded to a few social media users who told him he is no different than any other flyer and is subject to random additional searches.

“I was not against the screening. It was the excessive pat down followed by a second pat down and then unpacking my bags item by item…. I travel every week to multiple cities, and no other TSA group has ever been like this.”

Not the best start to your travel day to say the least…
