Sun Dont Shine (Crowbar, Type O Negative) Release New Single “Coming Down”

Coming at you like a slow moving steamroller, the heavy and doomy music of Sun Dont Shine is once again here to remind you that when you get awesome musicians together in a room, good shit usually happens.

Comprised of former Type O Negative members Kenny Hickey as the band’s frontman and Johnny Kelly on drums, along with Crowbar frontman Kirk Windstein and Todd Strange handling guitar and bass respectively, Sun Dont Shine has been slowly feeding the metal fanbase with killer new tunes. Previously known as Eye Am, they released tracks “Dreams Always Die With The Sun,” “Cryptomnesia,” and “The Promise Song.” All of which highlight the multi-layered writing style they’ve adopted since their formation. Now as Sun Dont Shine, they’re getting closer to the release of their self-titled EP and I couldn’t be more excited.

Regarding how a band full of such highly regarded musicians can work together so cohesively, Hickey said it all works because they’re all pulling towards the same goal.

“We don’t want it to be one-dimensional. We want the music to be both light and dark—dynamic and unpredictable.”
