The teaser trailer for Y: Marshals is finally here.
Fans have been eagerly awaiting a longer look at the CBS show ever since the Yellowstone spinoff focusing in on Kayce Dutton was announced. We’ve gotten little glimpses here and there, but this official teaser trailer finally gives viewers a longer look at what to expect out of Y: Marshals.
CBS just recently announced their 2025-2026 midseason lineup, and the series that’s probably the most anticipated is Y: Marshals, which will feature 13 episodes in its first season. Luke Grimes is reprising his role as Kayce Dutton in the show, and fans are excited to see how the youngest of the Dutton siblings once again utilizes his prior military experience as a Navy SEAL.
Based on the show’s proposed log line, it appears the series will explore his trained skillset a bit more:
“With the Yellowstone Ranch behind him, Dutton joins an elite unit of U.S. Marshals, combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana, where he and his teammates must balance family, duty and the high psychological cost that comes with serving as the last line of defense in the region’s war on violence.”
Welp… Taylor Sheridan has another hit on his hands.
That’s made evident by the action-packed trailer that was released by CBS just yesterday. Violence will continue to follow Kayce Dutton in this new series, only this time, the violence will be giving him purpose rather than problems. And when the issues do arise, it looks like Gil Birmingham’s Thomas Rainwater – from the original Yellowstone series – will be there to provide guidance and comfort to Kayce.
At one point in the trailer, you can hear Grimes as Dutton say:
“I fought everyday to get out from under the weight of Yellowstone. I’ve lost my teammates, my parents, even my brothers. Sometimes good men have to do bad things. Let them try to find a new beginning.”
Kayce Dutton and the team of U.S. Marshals that he’ll be joining forces with will face off against gangs, cartels, and race warriors. And from the looks of it, there’s going to be plenty of high-stakes, explosive showdowns throughout the spinoff’s 13 episodes. Another portion of the trailer shows Kayce’s squad leader in the show, Pete Calvin (played by Logan Marshall-Green), saying this as they both look over the land in front of them:
“It may look like God’s country to you, but the devil’s running free out there.”
What a line.
Fans will be able to watch the first episode of the series in March of next year. CBS has confirmed that the spinoff sequel will air in the spring, and will fall into the coveted 8 E.S.T time slot. The series premiere of Y: Marshals will go out to all Yellowstone fans on Sunday, March 1 on CBS. New episodes of the show will air in same time slot all the way through May – assuming no interruptions or mid-season breaks – until the season finale.
Here’s the trailer that you can watch over and over again until then:
