Security Guard Can’t Help But Sing Along With Luke Combs During Headlining Bonnaroo Performance
That song’s a banger so I get it. Bonnaroo kicked off last night, and based on my TikTok algorithm I would guess that approximately everybody in Middle Tennessee is down in Manchester for the four-day festival. I’ll admit I’ve never been to Bonnaroo, and it’s never really appealed to me, but they always have solid lineups with artists from across the musical spectrum so it seems like there’s a little something for everybody. Luke Combs headlined the opening night of the festival, delivering a 2-hour set that featured guest appearances from Miranda Lambert and Marcus King. And it seems like the crowd enjoyed it…and so did the folks working hard to keep everybody safe.
Video shows one particular security guard who couldn’t help but sing along to “Where The Wild Things Are,” Luke’s 2023 single from his fourth studio album Gettin’ Old.
And I get it. I would say this one’s up there with one of my favorite Luke Combs songs that he’s ever released. I’m a sucker for good storytelling in country music, and “Where The Wild Things Are” perfectly captures the energy of watching a family member moving off to chase their own dreams, living hard and fast before tragically being taken by the same lifestyle that brought them so much joy to begin with.

But apparently this guy is a real Luke Combs fan, because that wasn’t the only song he was caught singing along with:

Respect.
I always love seeing videos of security enjoying themselves at concerts, because I want to think that these are people who wanted to go to the show for the music but decided to apply to be security so they could get in for free and get paid to watch the concert at the same time.
Then again, we recently saw an example of a security guard who had no interest in being at the show – or doing his job.
Brantley Gilbert wasn’t happy with a security guard at a recent show, after he just stood there and failed to help out when a woman passed out in the crowd.
It all went down during Brantley’s show last weekend at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino in Cherokee, North Carolina. A woman apparently suffered a medical emergency while Brantley was performing “Son of the Dirty South,” and without missing a beat he directed security and medical personnel to assist while asking the crowd to make room to help her out.
But he also noticed that one security guard didn’t exactly spring into action.
After the woman was taking care of, Brantley walked over to the side of the stage and threw his hands up at the security guard, asking what the deal was and why he didn’t help. And after the song was over, he decided to address it with the guy personally, walking off the stage and confronting the security guard for just standing there and not helping clear the crowd out of the way – or doing anything.
Once he got back on stage, Brantley had some strong words for the guy:
“Hey dawg, let me explain something to you. I hate to embarrass you, but it don’t do you no good to stand here with a uniform on if you ain’t going to do sh-t. Go on somewhere. Bye.”
Brantley checked with the crowd to make sure everybody was good, shaking his head at the security guard, before once again expressing his disappointment:
“Got 10,000 people in security shirts and just gonna f—in’ stand there.”
