Post Malone, aspiring photographer.
Posty is out and about in the state he calls home these days, Utah. Truth is, he’s lived out West for a long time, but the Texas native dove headfirst into in the Western world after making his country music crossover last year with the release of his debut country album, F-1 Trillion. And his country way of life goes well beyond his music these days.
Post Malone is attending rodeos, getting dressed by some of the best Western designers, and recently bought a cow horse from the Lone Star State. And I must admit, the horse is a beauty and appropriately named “Ashtray”… take a look:
And based on a recent viral post, it appears that Mr. Malone could add rodeo photographer to his resume. Over the weekend, Malone attended The Fiesta Days Rodeo in Spanish Fork, UT. The rodeo has been held annually for the last 83 years and features some of the rodeo’s finest talents as part of the PCRA Tour.
The event was packed with locals and some celebrities, including the “Finer Things” singer. While watching buck broncos and bulls take the Pro Rodeo riders for a spin, Malone was approached by rodeo content creator and photographer Elizabeth Single, asking if he wanted to snap a few pictures on one of her cameras.
“This camera? I can do that, yes ma’am I will. How do I work it? Just hit this button?”
Malone asks as she hands him what appears to be a digital film-style camera.
Malone was given complete creative freedom over the shots he took, and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Once the film was developed, Single shared a few of the shots Malone captures, and I’m honestly impressed. From snapping shots of people near the bucking shoots to the behind-the-scenes shots of riders getting settled on their livestock draw for the night and live action images, Malone covered it all in the collection of photos he took during the event.
A rodeo from Posty’s POV looks like a dang good time.
