Nebraskans love a good brewski.

Do you smell that? It’s football season right around the corner. I’m personally more of an NFL fans myself, but I do love Saturdays jam-packed with college football. The passion from college football fans is unmatched, and one state that absolutely eats up action on the gridiron is Nebraska.

The Cornhuskers were picked to finish 6th in the Big Ten preseason poll, which means that Nebraska should be rather competitive this year. They’ll certainly be looking to bounce back from their lackluster 7-6 season last year, but regardless of how the football team looks this year, fans should have a great time watching their Cornhuskers out on the field.

Why? Because the beer will be plentiful.

There are many college football programs across the country that have only recently allowed for beer and alcohol sales inside their stadium. It’s hard to believe that, as recently as last year, the greatest sport in the world couldn’t be enjoyed while sipping on a brewski.

Nebraska was one of those schools that opted to not allow alcohol inside their stadium… but they finally reversed course in 2024 and approved beer sales. Now, in 2025, the Cornhuskers are fully implementing beer availability within Memorial Stadium… and based upon reported numbers, they aren’t messing around.

Central Nebraska Today shared that the home of the Cornhuskers will have over 120,000 cans of beer at the ready for every game day. Memorial Stadium can hold up to 85,000 fans, so I guess having that many ice cold beers stocked away makes sense. And there will be plenty of options to choose from.

There will be beer from local breweries available, which should make fans of craft beer happy. For those that prefer mainstays, Bud Light, Coors Light, Modelo, Michelob Ultra, Miller Lite and Busch Light will also be offered. Then you can’t forget the seltzers… High Noons and Nütrl Seltzers will serve as alcoholic options.

Obviously one of the concerns with serving alcohol at a sporting event is safety. That was one major reason that Memorial Stadium withheld having beer until recently. But Central Nebraska Today did lay out some ways that the Cornhuskers organization is mitigating the risks around drinking:

“Alongside the previously announced no re-entry policy, the Huskers and Aramark will stop alcohol sales at the end of the third quarter, only allow two alcoholic beverages to be bought per transaction, and strict ID checking.

Additionally, Aramark, Nebraska Athletics, and UNL Campus Recreation will implement a designated driver program at the east and west concourse guest service locations.”

Probably a good move when you are stocking over 100,000 beers per game. I don’t know much about the state of the Nebraska, but I do know that they take pride in their beer consumption. Only time will tell if the 120,000 beers will be enough for crazed Cornhusker fans. I wouldn’t be surprised if I have to update this story at some point during the season to say that they’ve upped their stock to 150,000.

There’s not a better pairing than an ice cold beer on a college football game day.The post Nebraska Cornhuskers Football To Stock Their Concession Stands With Over 120,000 Beers Per Game first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
