Luke Combs Confirms He Recorded Viral Unreleased Song, “My Kinda Saturday Night,” & Fans Couldn’t Be More Excited
With the release of “Back in the Saddle” back in July, along with the set of 14 demos on a secret Instagram account created in August, it’s pretty clear that Luke Combs is officially in album mode. With the release of “Back in the Saddle” back in July, along with the set of 14 demos on a secret Instagram account created in August, it’s pretty clear that Luke Combs is officially in album mode.
In case you missed it, the “Beautiful Crazy” singer has been toying with the idea of “crowdsourcing the new record, which basically means calling on fans to help figure out the tracklist. Overall, it’s a pretty unique concept that I personally don’t recall any country artist doing in recent memory.
As previously mentioned, Combs dropped a set of 14 demos that gave fans a taste of what’s to come on the new record, but there was another song that was teased back in May that really caught the ears of fans. That song, of course, was the previously unreleased “My Kinda Saturday Night.”
Feeling like a certified ’90s honky tonk throwback, the snippet quickly went viral on TikTok, gaining 1.6 million views and 160,000 likes on TikTok alone as of today. Fans were through the roof with the fast-paced nature of the song, which served as a departure from the subdued nature of his 2024 album, Fathers & Sons, and signaled a return to the sound Combs scored hits with on tracks such as “Beer Never Broke My Heart,” “1,2 Many” and “Lovin’ On You.”
Coming out firing in the first verse and chorus, the song is nothing short of a barn burner:
“Dang, I ain’t ever putting WD-40 on this front porch chain
I can’t but I can almost hear that paycheck dropping in the bank
I don’t know what’s gonna happen tonight
But there’s a good chance it’s gonna sound like
Boots on the back porch, stomping on the 2×4’s
Little bit of long neck playing
Tires on the chert rock, Bubba shot the jukebox
Bendin’ them guitar strings
Cold can-packing and some ol’ boys crackin’ on the cooler light
Sure sounds like my kinda Saturday night”

Though it seemed as if Combs might have moved on from the song or pivoted due to the plethora of demos posted back in August, he took to social media last night to confirm that he has officially recorded “My Kinda Saturday Night” due to the outpouring of positive comments on the original post:
“I saw all of the comments for ‘My Kinda Saturday Night.’ Excited to let y’all know I finished recording it the other day.”
Clearly excited about the song itself and the prospect of new music from the North Carolina native, fans took to the comment section to praise “My Kinda Saturday Night” and ask for a release date:
“Certified Banger”
“Yay, we need this one”
“The 90’s are so back”
“Yea bro this the Luke combs i like”
“I can sense a new album coming”
“Yes, can’t wait been waiting on this track”
“We are SO READY”
“Drop it soon!”
As of now, “My Kinda Saturday Night” has no release date. However, given the immense amount of hype surrounding the song, I wouldn’t be surprised if Combs pulls the trigger on dropping it sooner rather than later.
For now, we’ll just have to wait and see.The post Luke Combs Confirms He Recorded Viral Unreleased Song, “My Kinda Saturday Night,” & Fans Couldn’t Be More Excited first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
