Jeff Mills has planned a wealth of activities for techno fans in the genre’s birthplace, Detroit, to celebrate his “Star Chronicle” saga.

Spanning three chapters, Forbidden Planet, The Space Age and Cyber Punk and The New Revolution, each day will feature art from the techno icon’s personal collection, a film screening and performances from himself and a special guest. The programming comes from Paxahau, the minds behind Detroit’s storied Movement Festival.

Thursday’s Forbidden Planet will feature a screening of the film X-102 Rediscovers The Rings of Saturn:  Live in Tokyo 2018, which features footage of a rare Underground Resistance performance from Mills and Mike Banks. After the screening, fans will be treated to a special live performance from Terrence Dixon.

The next night follows with The Space Age, where fans will take in a performance from Developer alongside a showing of Dairakudakan’s PLANETS, which features music from Mills set to the Japanese style of dancing known as butoh. The final night of the “Star Chronicle” residency, Cyber Punk and The New Revolution, will display the film Life To Death And Back, directed by “The Wizard” himself and featurring clips from his residency at the world-famous Louvre in Paris. The night will conclude with a guest performance from Keith Tucker’s Optic Nerve project.

Mills will host his “Star Chronicle” artist residency from September 10-13, 2025, at Spot Lite. Three-day passes are sold out but single-day tickets can be purchased here.
