‘The Madison’ Sets Premiere Date As Taylor Sheridan Wraps Season 1 AND Season 2

The Taylor Sheridan that’s been kept under wraps for the most part will be here before we know it.
For years, The Madison has been teased and talked about, and for just as long, there’s been a lot of question marks surrounding the show. It’s not a stretch to say that Taylor Sheridan (and others working on The Madison) has handled this series a bit differently than other television shows. Initially billed as a series in the Yellowstone universe, apparently that is not the case… more on that soon.
But regardless, there aren’t many other examples of a TV series shooting two seasons worth of story before fans even see a single episode. In fact, there might not be an example in the modern day other than The Madison.
All that being said, if there was one person able to pull it off, it’d be Taylor Sheridan. With his track record in the industry, he can shoot whatever he wants, wherever he wants, however he wants, without any official orders. And that’s what he’s done with The Madison, which has Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell attached.
As far as plot is concerned, the series revolves around the titular character of Stacy Clyburn (played by Pfeiffer), a wealthy matriarch who upends her life in New York City to move her and her family to Montana following a plane crash that kills her husband and brother-in-law.
It’s apparently been described as Sheridan’s most intimate piece of work of his career, and a story that explores grief and human connection.
They began filming the series in Montana in August of 2024, and sources say they shot more for the spinoff in North Texas in November and December of 2024 as well. Production on Season 2 then went ahead in October of 2025, and wrapped filming back in December.
That is according to an Instagram stories post from Elle Chaps (who is featured in the cast of the upcoming spinoff), who shared back on December 20 that The Madison had wrapped filming:
“And that’s a wrap on Season 2. Heart is full.”
Before yesterday, when Paramount+ confirmed that The Madison would air sometime in 2026, all we knew was that Pfeiffer and Russell were set to be the leads of the series. Danielle Vasinova, Ben Schnetzer, Patrick J. Adams, Beau Garrett, Amiah Miller, and the aforementioned Elle Chapman are all also set to be included in The Madison.
But now, we know that The Madison is set to premiere on March 14 on Paramount+.
The streaming service made the announcement earlier today, and also shared some new photos from the upcoming series. In doing so, they confirmed that Kurt Russell will be featured in the show’s first season. There was some speculation that he’d only be joining for Season 2, but first look photos confirm that he’ll be included in multiple episodes of Season 1.
Deadline also reports that the first season of the show will only be six episodes long. Though that’s by far the shortest season of a Taylor Sheridan-lead series (most seasons are 8 or 10 episodes), there is a bit of a twist. Remember that second season of The Madison that’s already wrapped on filming? There’s apparently an outside chance that it could be released as a “Part 2” of Season 1, though the plan as of right now is to hold it and release it as a second season.
Pretty exciting, right? Just a couple of days ago, we had no idea when we’d even get to see the highly anticipated show. Now? There’s a chance we basically get two seasons of it in 2026.
