“I Already Wrote The Ticket” – Body Cam Footage Of Shedeur Sanders Traffic Stop Shows The Rookie QB Hand Officer A Note

Turns out Shedeur Sanders is fast both on and off the football field.

The rookie NFL quarterback probably didn’t need anything else to worry about after sliding from a projected top 10 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft all the way down to… pick number 144. After many thought Shedeur would be a cornerstone of an NFL franchise, Sanders is now not even guaranteed a roster spot with the Cleveland Browns.

Let me say that again just for emphasis… Deion Sanders’ son might not make the THE CLEVELAND BROWNS roster.

And that’s just based on the skill and personnel that the team currently has (Joe Flacco. Kenny Pickett, Rookie Dillon Gabriel, and an injured Deshaun Watson are all on the Browns right now). That’s not even taking into account Shedeur Sanders’ most recent run in with the law, when he was pulled over for speeding near Cleveland, Ohio early Tuesday morning.

The citation from the incident explains that the former Colorado quarterback was pulled over at 12:24 a.m. after a police officer clocked him going 41 mph over the speed limit. Sanders, who was driving a black Dodge Ram TRX, was issued a ticket and was summoned to appear in Strongville Mayor’s court. If he pays the posted fine, than the athlete can avoid having to be in court on July 3.

Body camera footage from the incident was also just released, and shows Sanders – and his now confirmed girlfriend, Jasmine Hammond, who was also pulled over – being very respectful and cooperative with the officer that clocked them speeding. The officer questioned Shedeur about his Colorado license plate that didn’t match up with his Mississippi driver’s license… guess Shedeur hasn’t had time to go to the DMV just yet.

After going through the motions, the officer can be heard on the video letting the rookie QB off pretty easy:

“I’m gonna cut you a break. I’m not going to give her a ticket, like I said, I got her at 92 mph. But 101, I got a dash cam and stuff, man.”

At one point, it appears that Sanders attempted to hand the officer a note or a business card, most likely a card from an officer in the area saying this person is “family or a friend” of the officer listed. In the Northeast, they’re called PBA cards, and sometimes if you get pulled over and have one, they’ll let you go with a warning. It’s unclear what the small piece of paper said, but it apparently was too-little, too-late in convincing the Strongville police officer to not write the ticket, as the officer explained:

“I don’t know who that is. I already wrote (the ticket), man. You got to give that to me, before. I’m going to give your girl a break, okay?”

A real “Officer Friendly.”

It was only when the officer took a good look at the license of the football player that everything about the encounter – the Colorado license plate, the Mississippi license, the last name – that the man who pulled over the black Dodge Ram figured out who the driver was:

“Shedeur Sanders… Deion Sanders’ kid.”

Yeah… that Shedeur Sanders.

I do wonder what was on that card that the Cleveland Browns QB (?) handed over. But it evidently wasn’t enough to convince the officer to tear up the ticket. At the same time, some people would be arrested for going that fast over the speed limit… in many jurisdictions even going 30 over lead to a reckless driving charge.
