Hardwell Taking Over “A State of Trance” Radio Show for One Night Only

In what’s sure to be one of the most memorable dance music radio crossovers of the year, Hardwell has announced that he’s taking over the airwaves of this week’s A State Of Trance.

Armin van Buuren’s long-running global radio institution is set to host a rare takeover event titled A State of Hardwell, a rare crossover arriving as Hardwell has been gradually threading more trance-influenced sounds into his recent work. At Ultra Music Festival in March, he debuted “Sanctuary,” which was widely seen as a signal of one creative direction the superstar producer was likely to explore further.

While announcing his forthcoming appearance, Hardwell assured fans his guest mix will be one they won’t want to miss. 

“Bringing my signature energy straight to the ASOT studio for a special episode you won’t forget,” he said on social media.

Over the course of two decades, the A State Of Trance radio show has amassed a listener base of over 40 million across 84 countries. While most of the program’s previous takeovers have been reserved for trance artists in the more conventional sense, van Buuren has consistently shown a willingness to invite multi-genre artists like Hardwell onto the program to share their perspective and expand the conversation on trance’s future.

On the tour front, Hardwell is fresh off headline appearances at major festivals including Tomorrowland and Ultra Europe, and he recently announced a fan-voted US tour for September that will take him to Los Angeles, New York City, and Washington DC.

A State of Hardwell goes live on Thursday, August 21st at 20:00 CEST.
