Georgia Couple Goes Viral For Doing Their Gender Reveal With… A Septic Truck

Gender reveals are getting too out of hand. Over the years, gender reveals have gone through many phases, from the extravagant displays with cannons shooting off pink or blue confetti to the trend where everyone at the gender reveal would go around and say whether they thought the child would be a girl or a boy. We all know how it goes (typically with a thick southern drawl): “I’m your MeMaw, and I think you’re a girl! Gender reveals are getting too out of hand.

Over the years, gender reveals have gone through many phases, from the extravagant displays with cannons shooting off pink or blue confetti to the trend where everyone at the gender reveal would go around and say whether they thought the child would be a girl or a boy. We all know how it goes (typically with a thick southern drawl):

“I’m your MeMaw, and I think you’re a girl! I’m your PePaw and I think you’re a boy!”

However, I thought the over-the-top gender reveals had seen better days when the trend of cutting into a cake, biting into a cupcake, or intimate gatherings returned. The moments when it’s just the husband and wife finding out the gender, with no audience there to see, are the most tender to me. It’s so precious to see what you’re growing inside your belly and to witness the excitement that crosses their face as the blue or pink color is revealed in front of their eyes.

But I spoke too soon with this theory that things had dialed back some.

A gender reveal in Georgia proved that over-the-top (and odd) gender reveals have gone nowhere. Although an intimate group of what appears to be immediate family gathered to watch this gender reveal, the method by which they chose to share whether they were having a baby boy or a girl is something I’ve never seen before. And I think that says a lot because I’ve seen an excavator used in a video online.

This couple used a septic truck. Yes, a truck that sucks our bodily excretions.

The couple removed the hose from the septic truck and filled it with colored powder to represent the gender of their child. The man holding the hose turned on the function to remove all the contaminants from the septic truck, which typically happens at a wastewater treatment plant. But given that the truck had previously been emptied and they had put colored powder inside, when this function was turned on, the hose was used as a sort of cannon, highlighting the baby’s gender.

The family waited at the back of the truck until a giant blue powder shot out of the end of the hose, and they celebrated that they were welcoming a baby boy into the family.

However, I have questions, as did the rest of the internet. Was the inside of the septic tank disinfected before they put the powder in there? Did it smell? Are there particles of fecal matter in the powder?

“Did the blue cloud smell like a fart?”

“The downwind on this is crazy.”

As I was writing this blog, the creator turned off the comments on the post’s comments; don’t blame her. If this is the family’s business and brings them joy, let them live. I can’t say I’ve ever seen a gender reveal like this, and it’s definitely unique. I just hope no one got pink eye after this.

Congrats on the baby boy!The post Georgia Couple Goes Viral For Doing Their Gender Reveal With… A Septic Truck first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
