Fenerbahçe table €15m bid for Arsenal forward: 3-year contract agreed

There’s been lots of news of incomings today, with Viktor Gyokeres talks accelerating, Martin Zubimendi finally being confirmed as an Arsenal player and more talk of Noni Madueke heading to North London.

But Arsenal also need to make some sales. One of those could be Leandro Trossard. Fenerbahçe are pushing hard to land Trossard, with the Turkish giants reportedly prepared to meet the Arsenal winger’s wage demands and offer a three-year deal to secure his signature – according to The Turkish Post.

The 30-year-old Belgian international has just one year remaining on his Arsenal contract and is believed to be seeking a financially rewarding move this summer. Initially hesitant about a switch to Istanbul, Trossard has recently joined DW Sports Management, a firm with strong ties in the Turkish football market.

This agent change appears to have unlocked negotiations. According to reports from The Turkish Post, Fenerbahçe’s board are not only prepared to meet Trossard’s salary expectations, but have already presented a formal three-year contract offer. They’ve also submitted a €15 million transfer bid to Arsenal, as they look to reinforce their squad ahead of a crucial domestic and European campaign.

Despite Mikel Arteta’s preference to keep the versatile attacker — who featured 56 times last season, contributing 10 goals and 10 assists — the North London club may be tempted to cash in while they still hold value in the player. Arsenal also have ambitions to bring in several new forwards, and Trossard’s departure could facilitate that.

Trossard, who is capable with both feet and operates effectively across the frontline, has attracted interest from several clubs including teams from Saudi Arabia, but seems increasingly open to a Fenerbahçe switch, especially now that personal terms look promising.

With Andrea Berta now leading Arsenal’s transfer business, all eyes will be on how the club responds to the Turkish side’s approach.
