Arsenal advanced to the League Cup quarter finals with a comfortable win over Brighton, despite a lot of changes.

It was a very heavily rotated line-up which Mikel Arteta trusted to start the game and he made no changes until the 70th minute when Gabriel, Jurrien Timber and Bukayo Saka came on.

Andre Harriman-Annous joined fellow Hale End teenager Max Dowman in making a full senior debut.

Arsenal opened the scoring early in the second half when Eze and Merino combined before Lewis-Skelly found Ethan Nwaneri who swept home impressively.

The late subs then showed their quality, Timber storming through the pitch before feeding Harriman-Annous who made a great run but saw his effort saved, but Saka pounced to convert and put the game beyond doubt.

It couldn’t have gone much better really. No injuries. 10 changes. Full debuts for Max Dowman (15) and Andre Harriman-Annous (17), valuable minutes for rotational players, goals for Ethan and Bukayo and a comfortable win.
