Dylan Gossett Continues To Chase His Dreams With Impressive Debut Record ‘Westward’

The rise to fame happened rather fast for Dylan Gossett, but it’s clear he won’t be complacent.
The Austin, Texas, based troubadour rose to social media fame a couple of years ago after going out on a limb and posting videos of himself playing originals and covers, with no intention of anyone other than friends or family taking notice. But when a video of his song “Coal,” gained millions of views, Gossett was thrusted into the limelight as an instant country music sensation, and he really hasn’t looked back.
Making the most of his sudden stardom, all while remaining incredibly humble along the way, Gossett kept his head down and continued to grind harder, touring heavily and releasing a several singles and EPs as he continued to hone his craft as a songwriter. And now that he has a couple of years under as a full time musician under his belt, Gossett has put to rest any ill-advised speculation that his time in the spotlight was a mere flash in the pan.
In fact, with the release of his debut record Westward, Gossett proves that he is one of the premiere up and coming talents in country music. With a cohesive track list that features 17 originals, Westward finds Gossett shedding perspective and reflecting on the relationships, experiences, and circumstances that have led him to where he is today, expressing optimism for the future all while conjuring an undeniable sense of nostalgia through his every day observations.
I could go on and on about how great this album is and how it showcases the up-and-comer’s lyrical prowess, but the proof is in the music, and I highly suggest you hear for yourself.
Here’s a few early favorites:
“Cicada Choir”
“Adeline (You’re Outta Line)”
“Back 40”
“Baptized By Rain”
What an album.
Dylan Gossett and his band are absolutely road dogging it for the remainder of the year, and they have some pretty awesome supporting acts joining them along the way too, so make sure to get out there and catch a show when he comes through your city.
