Dierks Bentley: country music star by day, UFO tracker by night.

Anyone ready for a Dierks Bentley alien/UFO concept album? If my research serves me right, no country music star has ever put out an album that’s chock full of alien conspiracies. And if Bentley’s research serves him right, he very well could be the artist that finally makes it happen.

Obviously Dierks is passionate about creating country music and bringing it to his fans through energetic, memorable concerts. But another passion of his that he has outside of country music is soaring through the sky. He first picked up flying as a hobby, and now he uses his skill to get his band to and from gigs.

Since he spends a lot of time up in the air (his favorite plane to pilot is a CR-4 jet), and he’s always keeping an eye out on the sky, he recently chose to let the rest of us in on an observation that’s apparently been puzzling him for years. Like many other pilots, Dierks has noticed some strange lights in the sky that can’t be explained.

He took to social media to see if anyone had any answers:

“See this all the time flying east to west in the northwest sky. Been meaning to post about it for a few years. They light up, move around for a bit, and then go dark. Appear to be 70,000 feet, but they stay in the exact same spot when you fly across the entire country…so they are in space.

Not satellites, not Starlink and not meteors… not saying they are UFOs but they are definitely unidentified flying objects! Ok….came for the post, here for the comments!”

Cue the classic “Ancient Aliens Guy” meme.

I wish I could extend some answers here, but I’m no expert in space or unidentified flying objects. The first thing you can do in a situation like this is investigate and eliminate the possible explanations, and Dierks checked satellites, Starlink, and meteors off the list.

That’s where social media did its thing. Dierks said he was “here for the comments,” and sure enough, the replies came rolling in. The country music star even interacted with a number of the fans that responded, so I went ahead and conglomerated some of those:

One user said:

“Husband is an airline pilot, he’s seen them as well.”

Dierks replied:

“I hear other pilots, some that have been flying for 20 years, talk about it on our ‘guard’ frequency. No one seems to know.”

Another threw out this:

“China.”

Dierks replied:

“Honestly, that’s probably the best guess.”

This social media user really went for it:

“Galactic Federation is allowing us to see their crafts gradually to avoid fear. All UFO sittings are based on our soul plan and the closer we get to the Shift, the more crafts we will see. Enjoy seeing our friends in the sky!”

Dierks sarcastically replied:

“Well there ya go. Solved!”

And then finally, Miranda Lambert even joined in on the conversation and contributed her best guess, which was tying it into an old Texas “ghost lights” phenomenon:

“Marfa lights.”

Dierks replied:

“Maybe!”

We may never know what those bouncing light orbs are that Dierks videoed and posted on social media. Guess that’s why the term “unidentified flying objects” exists, right? When we can’t figure it out what we’re seeing in the night sky, we can just group it in with the rest of the UFOs and move on.

Here’s to hoping that Dierks Bentley can be the one that makes the breakthrough discovery (preferably through that alien concept album I brought up earlier). After all, Dierks thousands of feet up in the air a lot more often than most of the rest of us. If anyone can figure out these unidentified flying objects, it’s an identified flying country music artist.
