Working with one of her idols.

Carter Faith secured the “Bar Star” of all bar stars for her new music video. The North Carolina native is on a roll with the singles that she’s released this year. The blonde southern belle stunned fans with her anthem for not liking someone, “Grudge,” followed by her promiscuous tune “Sex, Drugs & Country Music.” The hot streak continued with her two latest singles, “Bar Star” and the surprise release of “Billy Bob Thornton (Worktape).”

When Faith released “Billy Bob Thornton (Worktape),” which is inspired by the Landman actor, she shared with fans that she has always admired his work and has been drawn to his characters, wanting to marry them all.

“I wrote this song about Billy Bob Thornton because I literally love him. I’ve always thought he was so talented, and I’ve wanted to marry many of the characters he’s played over the years. I just had to write about it, and I hope people like this little glimpse into my one-track mind.”

Before the song was gifted to fans, Faith had the opportunity to perform the track in front of Billy Bob Thornton, who appears to give the rough-around-the-edges love song his stamp of approval.

After fans saw the two together, it led to them begging for a larger collaboration. Of course, fans wanted him to appear in the “Billy Bob Thornton” music video, but Faith had other plans, as that felt too obvious.

Earlier this month, Faith dropped an Easter egg for fans, indicating that he might appear in the “Bar Star” music video, role-playing how he would call up the Landman actor, begging him to be a part of the song’s visual.

“This is how I would ask Billy to be in my music video. ‘Hey Billy, it’s me, Carter… Do you remember me? I wrote some songs with you. You know how you’re an actor? I was thinking how cool if you acted in one of my music videos. It would be really good for your career… (Faith chuckles).

Which song? No, not the song “Billy Bob Thornton” that I wrote about you. A different song, actually. Yeah, it’s a song about a guy, he’s really talented, especially at drinking. It sounds like the role of a lifetime. I would supply Michelob Ultra, cigarettes, but you’d have to do it for free. Because I’m broke… Let me know what you think! Bye…Will you ordain my wedding? Okay, bye.'”

Beer and cigarettes? Hell, I’d star in this video for that.

While she did not explicitly say that he would appear in the “Bar Star” video, with the song playing in the background of the skit, it was implied that he would be featured in the song.

Sure enough, Carter Faith was not leaving fans astray, and Billy Bob Thornton is her “Bar Star.” When Faith released the cheeky tune, she shared:

“‘Bar Star’ is a fun song about a lovable honky-tonk man. In simple terms, he’s the star of the bar—for better or for worse—but damnit, she loves him.”

Billy Bob Thornton, especially his character Tommy Norris, embodies the definition of a “Bar Star.” He might not drink liquor anymore, but he can throw back beers and talk the talk like no other.

In the video, Thornton plays a neon-lit Casanova, chatting up many ladies at the bar. He and Faith lock eyes at the start of the music video, and viewers watch their dysfunctionally perfect love story unfold. From tender scenes of Faith and Thornton admiring each other, to Thornton stirring up trouble, he might seem like the town drunk to some, but to Faith, he’s her “Bar Star.”

Carter Faith and Billy Bob Thornton are a match made in heaven, bringing the lyrics to life in this music video.

If you need me for the rest of the day, I’ll have the “Bar Star” music video on loop.

“Bar Star” is set to appear on Carter Faith’s upcoming album, Cherry Valley, out everywhere on October 3rd.
