Letting fans know how it is.
Zach Bryan is gearing up to hit the stage at Red Rocks in Morrison, Colorado, which will be one of the non-stadium tour dates on his schedule this year. After concluding the Quittin’ Time Tour, Zach Bryan informed fans that he would be significantly reducing his touring schedule in the future. He was not kidding with that statement, as he’s only announced a handful of shows at major stadiums.
Because of the ticket price associated with stadium shows, Zach Bryan surprised fans and announced one night at the famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre, ensuring fans that tickets for this show will be affordable, promising fans prices would not exceed $50 with fees.
“Wasn’t planning on playing this, but a spot opened up and I wanted to play an affordable show for fans. None of these tickets will be more than 50 bucks plus the fees. Register now through Friday, June 13 at 5 pm MT for the chance to purchase tickets via Fair AXS – details and registration info at zachbryan.com. Love you guys.”
It feels very fitting for ZB to sell these tickets through AXS, keeping in line with his All My Homies Hate Ticketmaster live album, which was recorded at Red Rocks.
When you visit the AXS website, it indicates that tickets for the show are not yet on sale. Meanwhile, when you visit Zach Bryan’s website, it prompts fans to register for tickets. However, that has not stopped resale sites from already listing tickets for an absurd price, possibly scamming fans. These resale sites have tickets listed for over $1,000, which is leading fans to question Zach Bryan’s statement about affordability.
A fan DM’d Zach Bryan, commenting how pricey the listed tickets are, and ZB screenshotted the message and shared it to his Instagram story.
“Wish I could find cheaper tickets for your Red Rocks concert, August 10th.”
From the tone of his response, it seems that this fan’s DM was the straw that broke the camel’s back, leading ZB to bark back at fans who had messaged him about unruly ticket prices for the upcoming concert.
“Keep gettin’ stuff like this. The tickets are not for sale. They go on sale the day of the show. The people selected for the tickets will be able to purchase them -day of- to limit the pieces of s*** who resell them. God speed ‘n can’t wait to see everyone there. It’s gonna be awesome. Leave me outta this.”
Some fans will see this message from the “Something In The Orange” singer and say that he’s being rude, especially coming off the heels of the drama, commenting on a 14-year-old’s post who was upset she did not get a picture with ZB, along with other dramas he’s been involved in as of late. However, I don’t think he’s out of line with this comment.
From the get-go, he informed fans that a registration process was required to obtain tickets. If fans do not want to follow that process to obtain certified tickets, they are at risk of being overcharged or scammed, which is beyond Bryan’s control at that point. Artists are often blamed for ticket prices being out of control, but it’s clear that ZB is trying to ensure that they do not employ dynamic pricing, as Ticketmaster is known for, and to keep these tickets as affordable as possible. However, if a fan chooses to purchase a ticket through another platform, he has no jurisdiction over that.
As much as it’s hard to be patient, keeping your fingers and toes crossed that you are a fan selected for tickets at Red Rocks, it’s what fans need to do to secure that $50 ticket. “God Speed” to fans who hope to get tickets to this show.
