Sydney Thomas Confirms That Lane Kiffin Was The Unnamed SEC Coach Who Slid Into Her DMs After Jake Paul/Mike Tyson Fight

Whether you’re an Ole Miss fan or not, you’ve gotta admit that Lane Kiffin is one of the most entertaining coaches in college football. So it’s no surprise that he was suspect #1 when Sydney Thomas revealed that an unnamed SEC coach had slid into her DMs.

In case you don’t remember, Thomas was the viral ring girl from the Mike Tyson/Jake Paul fight on Netflix late last year (the one that turned out to be a total scam). In fact, the Alabama student was pretty much the only good thing to come out of the fight, so it’s no wonder that her DMs were blowing up after she took over the internet.

During an appearance on the Like a Farmer podcast with Pat Spinosa, Thomas revealed that after the fight, an SEC football coach slid into her DMs:

“It was from another SEC football team coach. And they just DM’d me, ‘Roll Tide.’

So I’m not going to say what coach it was, but they’re an Alabama fan, now at least. We’ll let everyone else figure that out for themselves, who it was.”

Well immediately after the confession from Thomas, the internet began speculating on who it could be – and pretty quickly narrowed it down to just a handful of coaches.

Several SEC coaches have ties to Alabama, including Georgia head coach Kirby Smart and Kiffin at Ole Miss, both of whom served as assistants for the Crimson Tide under Nick Saban.

And she did say that it was “another SEC football team coach,” so that seemingly eliminated Bama coach Kaelen DeBoer.

There was also Hugh Freeze at Auburn, who’s been busted (no pun intended) in the past for using a university-issued cell phone to call an escort service while at Ole Miss. So he would be an obvious candidate, no?

It felt safe to eliminate Sam Pittman from Arkansas and Mark Stoops at Kentucky, because I’m not convinced either of them can use their own social media. Josh Heupel at Tennessee doesn’t seem like a “slide into your DMs” kinda guy, and neither does Shane Beamer from South Carolina, but I guess you never know?

And one look at the recruiting videos that LSU put out and you’ll see just how awkward Brian Kelly is around college-aged kids, so I think it’s safe to rule him out too.

Of course if she had said an ACC coach, UNC head coach Bill Belichick would have been an obvious choice given the 73-year old’s newfound affinity for college-aged girls after his relationship with 24-year old Jordon Hudson. But Belichick has never coached in the SEC, so that eliminated him as a suspect.

In fact, it seemed like at the time everybody settled on one primary suspect: Ole Miss head football coach Lane Kiffin.

Kiffin is notoriously active on social media, and has an odd sense of humor, so honestly it seemed like something he would do while trying to be funny, and not even necessarily hitting on her.

At the time, Kiffin even joked about the story by trying to blame it on…Nick Saban.

Well after all this time, Thomas has finally confirmed what the internet suspected: It was, in fact, Lane Kiffin who slid into her DMs.

During her appearance on Netflix reality show Inside: USA, the blonde bombshell was asked the craziest celebrity to ever hit on her:

“I’d say Lane Kiffin, another SEC football coach. Slid in with, ‘Roll Tide’ and he’s the coach of Ole Miss.”

Well Thomas’ co-stars, including former NBA superstar Dwight Howard, looked pretty shocked by the confession from Thomas, but I’m not sure why because we pretty much knew it was him from beginning, right?

Lane has been divorced from his ex-wife Layla since 2016, so it’s not exactly scandalous that he’s hitting on other women. And hey, he’s only 50 years old so the age gap is still quite a bit smaller than the gap between Belichick and Hudson.
