Suicide Silence’s Chris Garza is Taking a Hiatus to “Press the Reset Button”

Earlier this afternoon, founding Suicide Silence guitarist Chris Garza took to social media to announce that he was taking a step back from the band for a while. Though he was quick to point out that he was not quitting the band in any capacity, only that he needed to “hit the reset button so I can make the right decisions in the near future.”

His full statement, which was released in collaboration with Suicide Silence’s official Instagram page, is as follows:

“What’s up everyone,

“As some of you have noticed, I’ve missed the last couple Suicide Silence shows. It’s because I’m on a hiatus from the band. Sui has been on my brain every day since 2002 with no break. Everything is fine. I just need to press the reset button so I can make the right decisions in the near future. As the Terminator said. I’ll be back.

Along with his responsibilities with the band, Garza’s made quite a name for himself in the podcast space, hosting the incredibly popular Garza Podcast, which features a huge variety of guests from the metal world.

At this time, there’s no information as to when Garza thinks he’ll rejoin Suicide Silence on stage. Only time will tell when he’ll feel the time is right.
