Steller and Zingara Blur Reality on New EP, “Is This Real?”

After much anticipation from fans, Steller and Zingara have officially released their first collaborative EP, Is This Real?, a three-track project that blurs the lines between inner reflection and outward cosmic energy.

Out now, the EP merges both artists’ signature styles into something that feels expansive and somehow also introspective and grounded, a sound equally suited for listening on headphones and festival-ready sound systems. 

Is This Real? explores reincarnation, collective consciousness, and the nature of time itself,” Zingara said. “We began this project as my great grandma was passing… it brought Steller and I closer through music, friendship, and studying these concepts.”

Steller added: “Everything seemed to align in unusual ways during the process, and the music reflects that sense of meaning and synchronicity.”

That thoughtful sense of alignment carries through the rest of the EP. The second track, “Better Believe It” brings in sax riffs and a laid-back groove, loosening the tension while keeping the energy lifted. There’s a playfulness to the track that offers a needed breath between the heavier, headier bookends of the EP. 

The title track opens with a spoken dialogue between voices, one reflecting on what it means to observe your own life from a distance. It begins in a meditative haze, swelling with reflective ambiance before one voice wonders, “Maybe I only exist in your mind? This is real,” before triggering a bass-heavy drop soaked in reverb.

The closing track, a rework of their breakout collaboration “Find It In Your Mind,” takes the original’s familiar elements and twists them into something more layered and distorted. It’s textured and warped, like a reflection of the familiar refracted back through a funhouse mirror.

“We’ve been waiting so long to release the VIP,” Steller said. “It felt like the perfect closer for the EP. If you read the titles of all three tracks together, the concept becomes clear.”

Steller enters this release off a busy summer. She recently wrapped her debut headline tour, which doubled as a mental health initiative in partnership with To Write Love On Her Arms. She’s now slated for DJ sets at Goldrush, GRiZ’s inaugural Seven Stars Festival, and more headlining shows through the end of the year. Zingara’s schedule isn’t slowing down any time soon either. She’s booked for Bass Canyon, North Coast and Wakaan, among other high-profile EDM festivals, continuing to connect the dots between high-energy bass and spacey soundscapes.
