Report: Arsenal still in market for two major attacking signings

Arsenal’s summer transfer business is far from over, with Mikel Arteta still eyeing two high-profile additions to strengthen his attack.

According to Gary Jacob of The Times, the Gunners are actively seeking a direct left-winger and potentially a creative midfielder before the window closes.

One of the most intriguing developments is Arsenal’s interest in a potential loan move for Real Madrid star Rodrygo. The 24-year-old Brazilian has seen his standing for the Spanish giants fall. A loan switch would be a shrewd piece of business for Arsenal, providing a ‘try before you buy’ opportunity and giving the club the financial flexibility to make additional investments in attacking midfield.

One such target could be Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze, with the same report suggesting Arsenal remain keen on his signing. The 27-year-old England international has long been admired by Arsenal, and a loan deal for Rodrygo could open the door to also bringing in Eze this summer. Adding both players would significantly upgrade Arsenal’s attacking options while also reducing the creative burden on Martin Ødegaard.

Sales, however, remain a key factor. Fabio Vieira is reportedly closing in on a move to Stuttgart, while Reiss Nelson could be on his way to Fulham. Additionally, with the club seeking a new left-winger, at least one of Gabriel Martinelli or Leandro Trossard would likely need to depart. While Martinelli is expected to stay and fight for his place, Trossard is believed to be available for transfer.

Both Vieira and Nelson were left out of Arsenal’s squad that lost 3-2 to Villarreal on Wednesday night. Albert Sambi Lokonga, Karl Hein and Oleksandr Zinchenko are all other players considered dispensable by the Gunners.

With just under a month left in the window, Arsenal’s transfer plans are taking shape. The possibility of a double attacking boost in the form of Rodrygo and Eze would mark a strong statement of intent as Arteta’s side prepares to challenge on multiple fronts.
