Arsenal have added Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze to their list of left-wing targets this summer, according to talkSPORT.

Eze is reportedly also of interest to Tottenham Hotspur, but Arsenal see the 26-year-old—who turns 27 this weekend—as a strong option in his prime and ready to make an immediate impact in their push for silverware.

The Gunners have been monitoring Eze for some time, and view him as a more affordable alternative to Real Madrid’s Rodrygo. The Palace man would likely demand significantly lower wages and is already proven in the Premier League, making him an attractive target in the current Arsenal summer transfers strategy.

Since joining Palace, Eze has produced 40 goals and 28 assists in 167 appearances across all competitions, establishing himself as one of the top attacking midfielders outside the traditional ‘Big Six’. His current contract includes a release clause worth around £68million.

Importantly for Arsenal, previous reports suggest that Eze’s release clause could be paid in three instalments, with Palace open to negotiation. That financial structure could make the deal more feasible as Arsenal look to strengthen Mikel Arteta’s squad without breaking the bank.

Tottenham are believed to be very keen on the England international too, setting up the possibility of a north London tug-of-war for his signature. Arsenal’s interest could hinge on whether they can offload fringe attackers, while Spurs are already pushing for reinforcements to support Ange Postecoglou’s style of play.

Reliable source @Teamnewsandtix (from X) is reporting that the club have agreed personal terms with Eze. Crystal Palace are said to be demanding three instalments of £20million, plus £8million in add-ons. Despite this progress, the structure of the deal and the timing suggest Andrea Berta may be positioning Eze as a contingency option—keeping Arsenal’s focus on securing their primary target for the left wing. Rodrygo, could still be the first choice.

With Eze entering his peak years and offering a cost-effective, Premier League-ready solution on the left flank, Arsenal may accelerate their interest as the transfer window unfolds.
