Priscilla Presley has found herself in a lawsuit accusing her of “pulling the plug” on her daughter’s medical care hours before her death.
In 2023, Elvis’ daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, was pronounced dead at 54 after being on life support hours after suffering cardiac arrest. Reported by TMZ, Lisa was found unresponsive by her housekeeper at her Calabasas home.
Her ex-husband, Danny Keough, performed CPR until paramedics arrived and administered an adrenaline shot to restart her heart. She suffered a full cardiac arrest. Presley was then induced into a coma and put on life support, in addition to being given a temporary pacemaker.
However, all of these efforts did not save her, and she passed away.
In a new lawsuit filed on Monday, August 11, two of Priscilla Presley’s former partners, Brigitte Kruse and Kevin Fialko, heads of Priscilla Presley Partners, have filed a claim that Priscilla “pulled the plug within hours of Lisa being admitted” for full cardiac arrest.
US Weekly reported that documents claim that Priscilla ignored Lisa Marie’s “clear directive” requests to ‘prolong her life,’ as an effort to try and regain control of the Elvis Presley estate.
“She knew that Lisa was in the process of taking steps to remove her as the sole trustee of Lisa’s irrevocable life insurance trust.”
US Weekly also reported that the plaintiff’s claim that Priscilla released a statement to the press right after Lisa Marie died to control the narrative further.
The complaint further accuses Priscilla and an associate of making false allegations of elder abuse against Kruse and Fialko to ruin their reputations. The plaintiffs are seeking damages exceeding $50 million, claiming fraud and breach of contract.
When news of the lawsuit broke, Pricilla’s attorney, Martin D. Singer, blasted the suit in a statement to Entertainment Weekly as “one of the most shameful, ridiculous, salacious, and meritless lawsuits I have seen in my practice.”
“This is nothing more than a sad and vicious attempt to falsely tarnish the reputation of an eighty-year-old woman in blatant retaliation…
Accusing a grieving mother of contributing to her daughter’s death is not savvy advocacy; it is malicious character assassination, and should be broadly condemned. These fabricated claims have absolutely no validity, and we are confident this case will be dismissed.”
Singer also shared with the outlet that Lisa’s daughter, actress Riley Keough, backs her grandmother 100% and is disgusted by the narrative painted by her business partners.
This legal battle between Pricilla and Kruse and Fialko dates back to 2023, when Kruse filed a breach of contract suit, alleging that Presley sent a cease-and-desist letter to the GWS Auctions founder and her business associate. This action led to the dissolution of the partnership that had been established over the past year. Kruse claimed that Presley sought help developing her name and likeness rights as a bulwark against mounting debt. He also claimed that his efforts, along with those of others, led to the creation of the biopic Priscilla, for which they received no credit on the Golden Globe-nominated film.
On the other hand, Priscilla also sued Kruse and Fialko and other business partners involved with the Priscilla Presley Partners venture, for trying to gain complete control of Priscilla’s finances as an attempt at “a form of indentured servitude.” The suit claimed that Priscilla had signed away 80 percent of her income to Kruse and Fialko.
This new lawsuit does seem like it’s an attempt to settle the score, given the back-and-forth lawsuits filed over the years between these two since Lisa Marie’s death.
The truth will be found as this case unfolds in court, but I hope that these claims are false, being made against Lisa Marie. Lisa Marie detailed in her memoir that her relationship with her mother was strained at times, but I hope that no mother is capable of the acts being named against Priscilla in this lawsuit. The post Priscilla Presley Accused Of Pulling Daughter, Lisa Marie, Off Life Support To Gain Control Of Elvis Presley Estate first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
