Parker McCollum Reveals The Most Country Thing He’s Ever Done: “Just The Crocs, True Story”

Sounds like something that would be in a firefighter calendar….

I’m going to be honest, I’m not entirely sure if Parker McCollum is trying to pull our leg with this interview question, or if this is a factual event. During CMA Fest, Parker McCollum, like many other country stars, spent some time talking to media outlets and publications.

This interview took place ahead of the release date of his fifth studio record, PARKER MCCOLLUM. You’d think that would be the topic of most of these interviews. And while that’s true, McCollum was also asked a few off-topic questions to help fans get to know him on a deeper level.

While talking to The Tennessean, Parker McCollum was asked by the outlet’s reporter what the most country thing about him was. He stalled, trying to come up with an answer:

“Oh, golly…”

So the reporter pivoted and then asked McCollum what the most country thing he’s ever done was. And I’m not sure anything could have prepared me for his answer.

“Um, I rode a horse bareback, naked, one time.”

I’m sorry WHAT? As an equestrian, I’m thinking how uncomfortable that would be and how at least one layer of clothing is needed for that activity. McCollum wasn’t done there, though, he continues:

“And you do it one time, and that’s all you need to do. Cause it ain’t that good. One time it’s… the experience will come shortly after you need it. I was wearing Crocs, too.”

The reporter lost it at the last sentence and burst out laughing, asking McCollum to confirm that Crocs were all he had on at that moment.

“Just the Crocs. True story. I’m being dead serious.”

I mean, I have so many more follow-up questions. Where was he? How old was he? Was he with anyone? What was the end goal of doing this? Was it a dare? The list goes on and on. Honestly, I commend this reporter for holding it together because I would be beet red with my jaw on the floor if I were standing before the “Killin’ Me” singer hearing this answer.

If that’s the most country thing Parker McCollum has done, I’d love to hear what comes second to that. I bet he’s got some wild stories up his sleeve.
