Nearly a Decade Later, Lost Avicii Demo Reworked and Released as Euphoric Dance Anthem: Listen

A dance anthem that made waves nearly 10 years ago at the hands of Avicii is finally seeing the light of day, albeit in a completely reimagined form.

“Loving Feeling” traces its origins back to Avicii’s storied Ultra Miami 2016 set, where the EDM icon, who tragically died by suicide two years later, debuted the unreleased demo to thousands of festival-goers. The original collaboration, written by Avicii, Cazzette and The High, became an instant fan-favorite despite never receiving an official release.

Like many tracks from that prized Ultra performance, “Loving Feeling” remained in demo purgatory when Avicii decided not to move forward with the project. The song lived on only in bootleg recordings and fan memories, until today.

The song has now been revived by The High, Helion, Alex Brazi and Thomas Irwin, who have reworked it into a fresh dance anthem. The group fittingly released the single today via Ultra Records.

For fans who’ve waited nearly a decade to hear a studio version, the track meets the moment with its soulful vocals and anthemic production. Last year marked a turning point when the Avicii estate granted The High, the moniker of Swedish musician Jonas Wallin, permission to revive the demo—with one crucial caveat.

The new version contains no original Avicii production elements, Ultra Records tells EDM.com. The move respects the late producer’s legacy while breathing new life into a beloved melody with an inextricable link to one of his most iconic performances.

“I’ve always been so proud of this song ever since we came up with the idea in 2016,” said The High. “This edit is true to the original idea of the song which I love.”
