Making another big donation to the community that shaped him.

Morgan Wallen has given back a lot to his hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee and surrounding areas over the last several years, and he’s once again writing a big check via his Morgan Wallen Foundation, giving another $50,000 to Gibbs Ruritan Park following a huge $140,000 donation last year.

The foundation sent around 300 children to baseball camp to learn from Tony Vitello and Tennessee’s baseball team over the weekend, where they announced the additional funding. The money will go towards further improvements to the ball fields and park, where two fields have been named after Morgan’s parents, Lesli Wilder Field and Tommy Wayne Field, according to KnoxNews.

Morgan has donated over $140,000 for improvements to Gibbs Ruritan Park, and $100,000 for the Jefferson County Baseball park. Additionally, Morgan gave Gibbs High School $35,000 in 2023 to go toward providing instruments for the school’s students.

Wallen’s mom, Lesli, who serves as the Program Director for the Morgan Wallen Foundation, said in a statement via Knox News that it’s an “honor” to have the fields named after her and her husband, and they want to help the larger community in any way they can, as they have shown through various donations:

“It’s not just our names on the signs that make us feel honored. It’s what it represents – years of community, hard work, shared memories and the incredible young people who have grown through Gibbs Youth Sports and will continue to do so.”

Morgan graduated from Gibbs High School in 2011, where he played baseball and had a promising career as a collegiate athlete before an injury sidelined him and the school he had committed to pulled his scholarship. He was a member of the Gibbs baseball team that won a state championship in 2010.

The injury ultimately led him to pursue a country music career, a move that obviously worked out for him in the long run. Through his involvement and generosity to the school since his country music carer took off, they renamed the baseball field to “Morgan Wallen Field” earlier this year, which I have to imagine was certainly one of those “you’ve made it moments” for Wallen, who talks fondly about his baseball years in high school and his hometown in general.

Of course, he just wrapped up another massive tour, playing stadiums all over the country in addition to releasing his mega hit album I’m The Problem earlier this year. As he continues to enjoy the success of the new album and the end of a tour, it’s likely that he’ll take some time off until the end of the year and considering the rate at which he’s put out albums over the last several years, I wouldn’t be surprised if he has new music in the works for 2026.
