Megan Moroney is gearing up to enter the era of MM3 and close the door on Am I Okay? earlier this week. Moroney has slowly launched herself into this next chapter of music with the single “6 Months Later,” but “Beautiful Things,” slated for an October 24 release, has fans thinking this is the official start of a new era.
Megan Moroney has had a specific color associated with all of her records: green for Lucky, blue for Am I Okay?, and fans think that butter yellow is the color for MM3.
Earlier this year, Moroney teased that a new era was coming as she hit the ACM Awards red carpet wearing a stunning yellow gown. She channeled her inner Andie Anderson, from the classic 2003 rom-com How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, in which Kate Hudson co-starred alongside Matthew McConaughey, wearing a stunning yellow silk dress, perfectly accessorized with a diamond necklace and yellow stone. Fans, of course, noticed and loved her homage to the movie, but they also wondered why she was wearing yellow instead of her signature blue.
Moroney recently did a pop-up at Nashville’s La La Land cafe, where she sported another yellow dress and dropped her single announcement for “Beautiful Things,” so fans seem to be picking up on her Easter Eggs here.
Given that Moroney has shared she’s a big fan of Taylor Swift, it’s clear she’s playing the Easter Egg game, and she’s doing it well because fans are now talking about more than just MM3’s color scheme. Now, fans have a theory of what the record’s title will be.
A Megan Moroney fan account, @moremoroney, has picked up on some potential Easter Eggs, leading them to post that they think Moroney’s next album could be titled Cloud 9. The account admin shared that Moroney has been teasing 9s, a number she has used for quite some time, but they have noticed her posting many cloud images and emojis, leading them to believe that the 9s and clouds are linked to MM3.
“Wait, hear me out… she used twice in different captions, as well as
and some pretty cloud pics in photo dumps recently!
We all know she’s been teasing 9’s forever & still is!! Maybe it isn’t a date.”
@moremoroney then made another post pointing out that Megan Moroney used a lot of cloud imagery in the “6 Months Later” music video, further suggesting this could be related to MM3 information.
Personally, I think they could be onto something here, especially since “6 Months Later” was her first solo release after Am I Okay?
The Megan Moroney fans are putting on their Swiftie hats, and I’m all for the Georgia native dropping Easter Eggs ahead of big announcements. I hope it stays on this level and doesn’t become as outlandish as some of the theories that Taylor Swift fans will run with.
Many fans chimed in thinking that Cloud 9 sounds like a good record title… only time will tell if this theory rings true.
